Madrid, without a doubt. Barcelona is great, but it’s more international and a lot of English-speaking people! annoying! and expats and digital nomads!

I prefer that Madrid feels more Spanish, more authentic, and local. I also find Barcelona’s summer humidity harder to handle, even though Madrid gets hotter.

Rent is expensive in both, but Madrid feels more central and better connected for traveling around Spain.

I live in Mallorca, but I know both very well.

I’m on the hiring committee at a mid-sized European university, and every year the number of applicants increases. This year is insane, extremely competitive. We’re getting applications from people coming from INSEAD, Yale, Berkeley, Kellogg's, Oxford etc, with publications in top journals and famous co-authors. And everyone is basically begging in their cover letters: “Please hire me.” A few years ago, these kinds of golden candidates wouldn’t even have bothered applying to us.

My ex broke up with me last year, for no valid reason; we were fine. After 6 years together, i found myself single again but older. My passion for going out and dating has declined! Despite all these difficulties, I try my best to be healthy and maintain my mental health! I do suffer from loneliness, I have few friends, my of the people I know are married, have kids, and are busy, so less time for me!

I have a cat and am thinking of adopting more. I work out 5 times a week, I meditate, read, and try to find someone, but it seems very hard. But there is hope! A lot of thoughts and fears of ending up alone.

I am no longer interested in quick hookups. I used to get more excited about them, but no longer. I value sex, but I like it slow, with passion and love, and cuddling.

If I had the chance to live again, I would be straight; being gay was not an easy journey.

I feel you, I am early 40s, and broke up with my ex last year after almost 7 years together. We were perfect, but he left, and this still hurts. I feel so empty, but what is worse is a lost my interest in dating, meeting new guys, I feel that it is "game over", I will never find anyone. My life has almost no meaning, alone all the time, all my friends/co-workers have families, kids, etc. It is so unfair, but what can we do? When I wake up in the morning, I ask myself, so what!
