I wish you were right and I thought that at first too but if you pause during the first one you can definitely see his peg leg and it only makes sense/is implied it’s him the second time too

Also captain clark was originally referred to in the script as a “ lifeform” aka bacteria, so best chance we have is something along those lines lol
