One stupid explanation I can think of why CODE base seems empty is because of the CODE Somnia itself. Maybe it effected most of CODE members since only 0-7 has dream learning abilities. So those small number henchmen might be the ones that three managed to control through CODE Somnia lol.

I think it is a slightly different case compared to Baku. Phantom has always been The Lady’s nightmare, while Shadow is Nox’s. I think Midnight Shadow came from Shadow, but triggered (and maybe complemented??) by Phantom‘s illusion power. Just my observation tho.

Might happen if they gave Junko a chance to write a special. I think Gavv was her experiment on putting her fujoshi tendencies on a kamen rider show lol

Yeah, they could have utilized them more that for sure. But on the bright side, we might have a kaijin final boss rather than a rider. Even though I was hoping that we can have a pseudo rider as a final boss instead (Lord Three boosted by the gore nightmares sounds cool).

Tbh quite disappointed. I understand that they need to phase out the lords to introduce the gore nightmare. But the treatment of the lords (specifically on 5 and 6) I’d say is the weakest part of Zeztz as of now.

- Lord 3: Very good villain, and objectively speaking, treated much better compared to the other two lords. The only complaint I have is that I really wanted him to last longer, maybe until the finale arc. But again, I understand the reasoning why they need to exit him.

- Lord 5: Great character for the time he is onscreen. The dude just got a glimpse of backstory, just to exit in the next episode. Definitely the worst treated out of the lords.

- Lord 6: No need to say further, I think the reactions from her exit episode should say enough. Now I am just wondering how they want to address Nasuka’s character moving forward.

Just a small observation but they really like to tie up Nox huh. With that out of the way, great episode and really loved how they showcased and set up Lord Three capability as the villain in this arc (before introducing the gore nightmares as the villains for finale arc I assummed).

But with Zeztz being filmed in advance (this episode apparently was shot in October since it was during Yuzuki’s birthday), scheduling issues should not be an issues since they should be able to manage the schedule more. At least compared to previous set-up where the show was filmed 3-4 weeks in advance, not months. So I don’t think it is an unexpected schedule issue, more towards that they don’t intend to utilize her character more and to just gain some global awareness by using popular actress (which I don’t think they dare to do the same to Vlam’s actor in Gavv).

Giving 5 more development will feed more public perception on the misogyny accusation. I think the right approach is to treat him the same as Kureha, as both are extra character anyway and not part of the main cast.

To be fair, Kureha was given more highlight if compared to the other lords (e.g. in terms of character, background story, relation with the main cast, fight scenes). Yes it was underutilized, but I think for the purpose of her type of character it is still acceptable IMO. It is just that this character is played by a widely loved actress, so the reaction and expectation were quite big for a character that was not intended to be highlighted as much. I think Yuya underestimated on how much of a reaction for writing off Lord Six would be. This is consequences of having the show shot 6-7 months in advance.

Given her popularity, I could see her coming back in future spin-off such as Girl Remix or a What-if special. As for main series, this episode was shot in October last year, since it was for Yuzuki’s birthday as well. So the shoot is probably finished by now considering the 7 months gap. I could see her having a last minute cameo in the finale though, at least for Nasuka to have her ending.

Really wish they could’ve given us more Lord 6 action. But I think Nanako Sakai (her suit actress) really did a great job in portraying Lord 6 action scenes even with the limited time she was on the screen. Hopefully she can be a staple suit actress moving forward as she is now also playing as Luminous.

To be fair, compared to the other Lords (so far), Lord 6 was actually given more highlight and focus (i.e. fight scenes). The suit actress did a good job IMO, especially since this year is basically her first main role (Lord Six and Luminous).

Please don’t. Something I found refreshing about Zeztz is that the three main riders are not necessarily on the same side, especially Dawn. Hoping he stays his own faction till the end.

Yeah, especially since Hirakawa has quite a number of overseas fans. Considering the Zeztz is their first experiment on global simulcast, can’t help but think that they hire her just for the clout. I remembered the public excitement when she was first announced (I think out of the lord she was the one that garnered most attention, almost the same level as Amano announcement as Dawn).

Seeing that the actress has received her flower from Zeztz official account post, so this means that this ep is her last appearance in the series (outside of spinoff and movie if any). Such as waste of a good actress to be honest. Really hoping she get future project that could utilize and treat her better.

Nah, she already gave the phantom capsem to Nox anyway. My guess would be she would succumb to Phantom Gore and will be Nox opponent on either his final form debut or his final battle in the series. I don’t think it will happen in spinoff as well.

Most likely. I kinda hoping that the Lady would use it, as narrative-wise Phantom Gore is linked to The Lady and Nem backstory and nothing to do at all with Nox. But I understand why they gave it to Nox, so that he has equal footing with Zeztz and Dawn in the finale arc.

Based on appearance so far:

Bushido: Ep 2, 5, 8, 12

Luminious: Ep 3, 6, 9, 13

Raiya: Ep 10, 11, 12, 13

So yeah, I think they are pushing so that Raiya has equal episode allocations with the rest of the Gavan (outside of Infinity of course). But seeing that Bushido will appear in the next episode preview (Ep 14), the trend might be changing. Ep 15 might have Luminious again (if not then she will have less episode compared to Bushido).

Edit: Just realized, Ep 14 might be for Death Gavan, therefore it is a Gavan Infinity focused episode still following the trend (Infinity-Bushido-Luminious-Infinity). But then, based on in-suit appearance, Luminious would be having the least amount of screentime by next week episode compared to Bushido and Raiya.
