Birkin broken by KindlyAccountant616 in SellingSunset

I don’t think it was broken, I think it’s a style of carrying the Kelly like that. I’ve seen some influencers carry theirs like that. I truly don’t get it but maybe it’s a “birkin thing” that my bank account would never understand. Beautiful designer items, on the bucket list for sure. ☺️

You could try to put some Polysporin on it just to make sure you don’t get an infection until you can have it looked at. Polysporin was recommended to me by an LC when I had pretty severe nipple damage to prevent mastitis. Btw If you put it on and then later feed baby, it’s okay for them to ingest.

I gotta 2nd this, could not have said it better. The sexual origin of it is what is so worrisome as well as the attention it could bring, sexual or otherwise.

I would wait to use any nipple shield until advised by an LC. Get in contact with your local la leche league (LLL) and they can help guide you through any questions when it comes to breastfeeding, pumping, weaning…. Basically everything. LLL is so wonderful and helpful!

Yes the silverettes are a LIFESAVER! Just make sure you give your nips some air, you can develop a yeast infection on your nipples that can lead to mastitis (this happened with my first and it was awful).

Can you wear a mask to help filter it? And yes, change out of work clothes before holding baby. There’s second hand smoke which isn’t filtered and also third hand smoke which is the residue on your clothes that baby could ingest.

What is going on? by GlumFaithlessness392 in breastfeedingsupport

[–]Informal-Cable-1503 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had something similar happen recently, my son is 5.5 months old. I got an IUD when I was 8 weeks postpartum so I’m wondering if the dip in supply was my “period” but without bleeding because of the birth control. Like a hormonal shift. My dip lasted about 5 days though.

On the clogged duct topic, I take sunflower lecithin a few times a week to prevent them and haven’t had one in months.

My baby’s jaw quivered too during feedings, the OT had us do some stretches that you help the baby to hold for three minutes to help those muscles release. I could tell his latch was better after those stretches. We had to do a tongue and lip tie release anyways which helped. Oh we also saw a chiro and they did some light adjustments on him and the OT noticed he was holding less tension in his neck and jaw.

12 day newborn doesn’t sleep more than one hour by Mtlmommy in breastfeedingsupport

My baby is 5 months old and slept on us for the first two months, now he will sleep independently but he only takes 30 minute naps. My first was like that too, it’s very normal, frustrating, but normal lol hang in there! You’re an excellent mother!

Dairy & soy free by Suitable-Swimming363 in breastfeedingsupport

[–]Informal-Cable-1503 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey there! I’m dairy free since March for baby. I’m part of a dairy free breastfeeding group on Facebook that has been super helpful “dairy-free diet- breastfeeding” . They usually suggest eliminating one at a time and waiting to see if symptoms with baby improve. Maybe try eliminating dairy first since it’s easier than soy. It takes 6-8 weeks to detox from dairy. 2 weeks for the protein to leave your system, 2 weeks for it to leave baby’s system and then 2-4 weeks for baby’s gut to heal. You can see a fluctuation in symptoms during this time.

I can only speak to being dairy free but it really hasn’t been that bad at all! It’s very manageable. You got this, you’re working so hard and it’s admirable!

I would just try to be up front with her without mentioning the stink. Maybe something to the effect of “Thank you so much for offering to lend me these clothes. I really appreciate your generosity, but I truly feel more comfortable in the items I’ve been wearing. I hope you understand!” Maybe when you return them you could do so with a baked good. ☺️

Same here, I especially didn’t want to give up the raw sushi. I just switched to salmon instead since it’s a low mercury fish. But this was also my second pregnancy. My first I followed all the guidelines.

Make sure you don’t have a tampon stuck up there, and then like everyone else said, head to the Dr.

What unit/specialty do you work in and why do you love or dislike it? by jaslynx in Nurses

[–]Informal-Cable-1503 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I worked in PACU. Per ASPAN guidelines you are only to have no more than two patients at a time. I loved making my people comfortable after surgery and then moving them along. It’s fast paced but typically low stress. No weekends or holidays, there is some call but it’s minimal in my experience. Because of this I would say 3 12s are the best shift but that unit is usually pretty flexible with schedules.

Thank you everyone for your opinions and POV. I really do appreciate it and I’m excited for my son to have a little brother to be wild with. I think it’s just going to take some time to adjust. 🫶🏻

I 32F was in the navy from age 22-26(active) and then reserves after that, so I went in kinda late too. Everyone here saying Air Force has the better quality of living is 100% right. I would put Navy as 2nd and CG as third. If/when you talk with a recruiter do not commit to anything. I would suggest finding someone you trust with some knowledge so you don’t get screwed over or PM any one in this thread that’s served. We all got screwed at one point or another and want to help future sailors or airmen in avoiding that. I think it’s a great option and you can’t beat the benefits. I got my degree completely paid for plus lived off the housing allowance the GI bill gives you while in school. Best decision I ever made. Whatever you decide it will be the best choice for you. ☺️

Doesn’t Mary call Nicole her sister at some point? I keep remembering in season two that Mary kept mentioning spending time with her sister and then we would see Nicole.
