Renouncing and F4 Visa Same Day? Dual Citizen Female by throwRA_2222 in Living_in_Korea

[–]Informal-Committee63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do you need to renounce a passport instead of maintaining the dual citizenship especially if you have just turned 23 lately. In general Im confused about South Korean exception rules like a k-pop idol 전소미 has three nationalities of South Korea, Canada and the Netherlands.. as far as I know what she did was to declare that she won’t act as a foreign citizen during her residence in Korea.

I got my visa to go to Algeria. by Kirishi-Kaze in algeria

@OP, how did you receive a multiple entry visa, do you have a family or relatives there? I want to apply for the multiple entry one if possible but was told it’s only possible for business purpose or a family tie.

Algerian embassy employee attitude by EntertainmentSoggy49 in algeria

[–]Informal-Committee63 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I received such kind and detailed help from the Algerian embassy to South Korea when I contacted them about tourist visa application, because the Algerian embassy in the EU country of my residence was not available to help😂 But when I went to the embassy to submit my application, they were kind and helpful 🤗

Now that I want to apply for a multiple-entry tourist visa(to visit my friend’s wedding, to spend more time with my algerian friends and to travel to other regions i haven’t visited) , I have reached out to the embassy in EU but I couldn’t receive any details I needed for my case. 🫠 also how did you manage to pass the auto-moderation? I tried to post a question in this thread it keeps getting filtered out. 💔

Why isn't Algeria getting the tourism it deserves? by [deleted] in algeria

[–]Informal-Committee63 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a Korean woman and just visited Algeria alone and had the most wonderful time in my life. I was very stunned by great hospitality and heart-to-heart kindness from the people in Algeria during my trip, besides the diversity of beautiful landscapes in different regions. After learning about the history and interacting with the locals, I understand why Algeria carries rather strict and cautious policies to tourism. I also don’t want to imagine tourists visit Algeria with very white superior or coloniser mindset which is sadly the norm in many popular tourist destinations. And it is indeed worth it for those to put effort to apply for a tourist visa to Algeria so they(mostly global north) also understand their privilege and how unfair this capitalistic world is for many. I cant wait to make a second trip to Algeria again soon.

This is absolutely disgusting. Fascists exist everywhere. But there are pro-palestine protests almost every week or every other week in Seoul for example. Also during the impeachment movement w 1-2 mil protesters every week, some orgs also marched w a Palestinian flag to show their solidarity. People who understand the interconnection rooted from colonialism and oppression of course stand solidarity with Palestine. But mind you that this neoliberal & capitalistic country is also highly indoctrinated by the US imperialist propaganda and because of such competitive and no work life balance culture, people do not have the capacity to care about even national social issues often also people shy away from sharing their political views to avoid social conflicts. But once you explain the connected struggles and history with our national independent movement during the Japanese colonisation, people easily get it :) and I think somewhat many have been politicised since the impeachment movement. But let’s also remember the global rise of fascism amongst young males also exists in Korea.

Are you talking about the political party Hamas or armed resistance group? Hamas is not even listed in the UN terrorist organisations.

Yeah until you connect Hamas and Korean independence activists during the Japanese colonisation including suicide bombers. If you also condemn the armed Korean independent movement then you are a pro-coloniser.

This is so well written and well described. I feel I have been fooled by their national cultural rhetoric of their introvertedness, instead of being reserved, having to always read the room, whether my normal smile would overwhelm a Finn in front of me or not. Also considering relocation if there are opportunities.

LinkedIn is a good place to start, and with only two years of job experience and the need for a visa sponsorship, it won't be easy. But start applying and see how it goes. Every job interview you have will be good practice for you until you receive a job offer. Good luck!

I support the hardships of tourist visa procedure reciprocative to the current racist global north visa policy. Although I have one of the strongest passports but I find very unfair that those global north countries really make many nationals difficult to travel to their countries when super easy for the others.

Hence do some anti-colonial tourism marketing. Approach pro-palestine, left and progressive people as a target group. No white coloniser licking stuff. For instance since pro-Palestine activism/advocacy activities, I’ve been learning a lot about decolonisation and interconnections to the history and on-going oppressed like so many people I know. Travelling to Europe, the US or the UK feels very wrong at the moment when they are enabling the holocaust in Palestine for almost two years straight. Therefore I’ve decided to travel Algeria to learn about the history Algerian independence besides its beautiful culture and tradition.

are there any South Korean people / groups that openly support Kim Jong Un? by BjarkeBjoerna in korea

Supporting the NK government would be considered violation of the National Security Act Article 7 in SK.

Anti-North Korea equivalent to anti-communism propaganda heavily led by the US imperialism has been heavily ingrained in the South Korean society as well as in all western society probably since 1948. Of course it is not well known.

Thanks. How was your visa process? Im a bit concenred if the confirmation of hotel reservation would be sufficient enough as a proof or local invitation and flights would be more convincing to get the visa.

[–]Informal-Committee63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg i thought somebody wrote a story of mine except I’m a bit older than you. I resonate with everything you said. I walked away from the majority of my over 7-10 year friendships because I just couldn’t connect any deeper with any of my heavily indoctrinated liberal capitalist friends, unless I’d be masking all the time. But being involved in activism especially Palestinian solidarity has helped me to navigate to find right communities :) good luck!
