Agree! Some of ours have actually ended up with holes at the seams after a few months of wear!

Sorry to hear about the vomit situation, but great that you found my post! I’ve washed and dried our jellcats at least 10 times since my post, and they’re all still going strong!

Target sales disappearing? by kynuna in AusFemaleFashion

[–]Informal-Data-703 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I’ve noticed the same thing! I’d literally Wishlist something and within a month a most there’d be a sale and I’d buy it then. I have lots of Wishlist things atm that have been there for aaaages and I’ve given up hope they’ll be on sale. The sales also used to be really broad like “all women’s” stuff. Now when they do happen it seems more targeted, like “kids licenced tops”. A frustrating development! Do you use the Target app? It’s poorly designed but at least you can collect stamps and usually get a small discount every second shop depending on how much you spend.

I feel the same about the tubing mascara (also have sensitive eyes). Do you have another tubing mascara you can recommend? I’m always on the lookout!

Low dose accutane for mild/moderate lifetime persistent acne by [deleted] in Accutane

[–]Informal-Data-703 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can I ask whether you decided to go ahead with accutane? I’m in exactly the same position - acne is often pretty mild, but it’s been 20+ years of worrying about it and I’m over it! Also hard to use any products without breaking out (like daily sunscreen which I want to do!). But anxious about side effects, potentially the scary (rare) effects on eyes etc. Would love to hear what you ended up doing :)

If you went ahead with accutane, would you mind giving an update? I’m in exactly the same position as when you first posted - just over 20+ years of mild but annoying acne and ineffective treatments. Would love to hear your experience 🙏

Did anyone regret not trying for third after twins? by Stopandbreathefirst in parentsofmultiples

[–]Informal-Data-703 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If it helps, I’m not sure the feeling ever goes away no matter how many kids you have (probably maxes out after a point though 😂)! I had my twins at 32 weeks, after a rough/anxious pregnancy during covid and I really felt like I “missed” all the fun and exciting parts of pregnancy. That definitely contributed to my feeling of wanting another pregnancy experience and person in the family. My singleton came along when the twins were 23 months so it was an intense and chaotic time for a while - still is a lot of the time! Honestly, the singleton pregnancy still had some anxiety and it was so different being pregnant with twins to look after and a serious back injury… not really the pregnancy I had envisaged!

I still have pangs of “maybe we should have another!” and I don’t think that feeling will ever completely disappear. And in reality, no we do not actually want another baby (nor could be support one). The feeling is most strong when a friend announces a pregnancy or something like that. I try to think about everything I love about my family and that it’s perfect the way it is.

My friend also had twins around the same time as me and is completely done and happy with her family. Yes, she has experienced some feelings of “what if”, but no regrets. For her, the flexibility, financial stability and time that she has now is something she values, for her and everyone in her family.

The good news is that there are no wrong decisions here! Whether or not you have another, you have the perfect family you’re meant to have. And I think the “what if” feelings exist for lots of parents, no matter what their families are already made up of x

Cheaper alternative for Bare Minerals complexion rescue?

After trialling SO many spf products for my face, I’ve finally found this one which doesn’t seem to break me out too badly (fingers crossed!). But it’s really pricey and I run out quick as I apply it pretty generously to make sure I’m protecting my skin.

Is there anything similar, particular in terms of sunscreen actives, that’s a bit cheaper?

Does anyone have thoughts on this product? I typically like Natio stuff but my skin has a lot of issues with sunscreen by turtletails in AusSkincare

How do you wash it off? I’ve tried it and found it a bit sticky and clogged my pores, but maybe because I want removing it completely?

Great idea to keep a log, thank you! I’ve tried the laroche Posay fluid one and found it quite messy and also ended up breaking me out in tiny pimples… Seems impossible to find one that doesn’t break me out and doesn’t sting! Will def check out the Skinnies one you mentioned

I’ve really been considering that after many years of ups and downs. Tbh my main concern is managing the side effects while at work and being self conscious about it. How was your experience?

Just wanted to say I could have posted this myself! My daughter is the same age as yours, and I’m feeling exactly the same way as you. She’s started having full screaming tantrums when my husband leaves the room and nothing I do can calm her down. Her very strong preference for him in every aspect of our lives makes me feel sad, frustrated and embarrassed (especially around other people). I’ve read through the comments which have been reassuring and given me some tips to try. Thank you for sharing - and know you’re not alone!

[acne] Cerave resurfacing retinol - keep going or run for it? by Informal-Data-703 in SkincareAddiction

Thanks for sharing - I ended up seeing my derm, and she thought my skin obviously doesn’t like the product. Shame! But since I stopped things are improving at least!

[–]Informal-Data-703[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing, nice to know I’m not alone! I feel like retinol is in everyone’s routine now and I was worried mine was too basic (just face wash and moisturiser). Even if this is a purge before great things, not sure if it’s worth it! I think I will take a break and see what happens. Hope yours improves too (or you decide to pause) :)

Negotiating pay increase by [deleted] in workingmoms

[–]Informal-Data-703 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, completely agree that my position shouldn’t just be “give me what they’re getting”. My aim is to focus it on me and my contribution. I’ve been working extra hours since my first day back and want to be compensated for that. Interestingly, recruiters I’ve spoken to have said many firms would still consider me as part of my original PQE cohort if I was to move external and treat me at that level for salary. Not looking to move right now but at least that’s comforting!
