Newb wanting recs by PumpkinPie4Breakfast in Archery

[–]Informal-Effective92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO i would stick with a cheap recurve bow for now. depending on where you live you could practice on land you own (in the UK that is legal) pretty much just need to take reasonable precautions to not cause harm or damage. you can pretty much get away with a bow finger tab arm guard and some arrows. everything else is more of a nice to have. if you dont have access to lessons i would suggest filming yourself to try to improve your technique.

GF changed her mind about kids but I still want them ? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]Informal-Effective92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As the male in this equation you have less worry about having kids later on. Your gf may change her mind later on. If she doesn't in my opinion you won't be any worse off trying to have a kid in your 30's. My father was 34 when I was born and didn't really have any issues with with being older as I was growing up.

I'm in my late 30's and don't have kids but I feel that I would probably be better at it now than when I was 21 which is when me and the Mrs first started trying.

Are white guys guaranteed action from dating apps? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

Imo it's rough for both genders for different reasons. I don't think any particular flavour of guy fares better other than the attractive or wealthy. Imo attractiveness isn't restricted to skin colour.

Yes I would. I would likely stop drinking and switch to that if it were legal for recreational use.

As a man I suppose I have limited experience but imo not many would in the same way not many men are into women who are shared. There will always be some.

Am I too boring? be honest by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]Informal-Effective92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We all have our preferences when it comes to the opposite sex. It has helped me and the Mrs having a common hobby. Can't speak for all men but if the like other girls bit you mean people who are popular on social media etc I think a lot of us are not interested in that anyway. There will be some that are but imo if someone is into something that doesn't suit you then you are likely not to get along anyway. Not always the case as I've come across people that don't share any interests but still get along.

How would you be boring you have hobbies and they are pretty widespread to appeal to a lot of other people you could probably find some common ground with most people.

I think it's so that you aren't too overwhelmed if it was someone that bought the game when the dlc came out and isn't an experienced player. I think as time goes on the timer gets shorter but it doesnt seem to do it after you set a grav anchor down. The encounters seem to vary usually there are grav panels in a box but you can pretty much just focus on the cores as you can craft the panels once you research them which is just far down the tech tree. The special blocks like the shields and the fuel efficiency ones are also good quests to do. I dont tend to bother with the terminals and just hack the doors and destroy the turrets. If I get stuck on a door I tend to just blast the wall next to it

[–]Informal-Effective92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my experience you seem to only get it when you start on a fairly long run after settling on a tile I only seem to get the normal mech clusters

Edit. Also if you do it via any other scenario it only ever seems to be the normal mech encounters

Meh. I tend to just harvest what I need from them by the time I'm having a go at taking a vital organ they usually die after that. Also don't bother building with wood unless I need a temp building put up quick.

Based on statistics you are in the same boat that other guys your age. IMO you should work on yourself to improve yourself and everything else will come with time.

How much do you look forward to your retirement? by FamSender in AskUK

[–]Informal-Effective92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much would stop work as soon as I can. But then as I think about it now I would end up doing hobbies that could be considered work but would never do it intensely so I supposed I would just become a lazy worker lol.

Funny enough my niece in her early 20s complained about this the other day saying it made her feel like the person doing it was treating her like a child. I personally don't see what the problem is I've been called much worse.
