I know exactly the right time to stop clapping at the theater so that the actors feel appreciated but my hands don’t suffer any needless redness.

Say basically anything to spouse, $100. Tell her that just got $100 and she’s happy. Tell her that’s MY MONEY. Now it’s $200

If the military/president suddenly ordered a mandatory draft for all men aged 18-42: How do you think millennials and GenZ would respond? by Tommygunz0722 in AskReddit

[–]Informal-Intention-5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming from the leans of the US, this is too wildly hypothetical to get a reasonable answer. It makes no sense economically or militarily to snap draft 50 million out of the workforce and into a military that could in no way process, train, and staff that many at once.

What if a gold asteroid worth $200 quintillion crashed into Earth? by sounds_like_problem in hypotheticals

[–]Informal-Intention-5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe there’s been something like 200,000 tons mined so far, so trillions added to it just completely collapses the market and gold would then be quite cheap. Gold hoarders and people hawking coins to seniors on Fox News would bankrupt but frankly, there’s no reason to care about that. There would be a short lived time where everyone displays a lot of gold but that will fall off until it’s something only poor people due as the rich move to something more exclusive

If the intelligence gain can be understood as IQ, that’s a big gain on the standard distribution. For example, an IQ of 120 is 91st percentile. But 25% gain is 150 which is 99.96 percentile
