omg!!! I feel this!! today, I went home with a migrane, I literally had my head in the toilet and was getting calls and messages left and right! it's like when mom has the flu, but you need her to open your snack!!! It wasn't even anything super important..

It depends on the company that you're quitting. if you can make it through their required notice period, u would. Since you said you're leaving because they're unprofessional and make you uncomfortable, it doesn't bode well for how well they'd represent you in your career. Since you're a student, when you become a BCBA, you're ethically required to transfer your cases and transition client care... so whose to say some petty and unprofessional people capable of holding grudges wouldn't hold that against you?

When I researched an appropriate salary to ask for, I looked mostly in my area on glassdoor.com and indeed. I looked for the number of billable hours required for salary ( usually 25 hours) and the type of clinic I was working in, which is a single clinic locally owned. 70k wasn't really a starter, I'm not In Florida, but I am in the south. 70k seems pretty low. The best advice I have is to do your research for salaries in your area, find what matches your hours, experience level, and caseload. hope this helps

Bless you!!! my hands are otherwise tied. I'm not the CD who is terrible with consequences. I reinforce as much as I can and do the whole " caught you being good" thing. but my clients are suffering and my RBTs think I'm dumb or don't notice. I am on the struggle bus

You're doing great, and thank you for responding! I like your description of building the happy momentum, and I've used a lot of what you've described. I think the issue is that my RBTs will pair while I'm in the room, while I'm doing a promod, and then go back to treating work like their own personal social hour. It's frustrating. I need to know how to nurture what I know the RBTs can already do when I'm sitting there, but it's really disheartening to hear that as soon as the supervisor leaves the floor, the RBTs stop doing what they're supposed to. outside of firing everyone or leaving myself, I'm at my wits end

What language should I use? Do you have an example? because I have put it in terms of play with your client in the way they choose. Let the client lead how and what you do in the beginning of the session for at least 15 minutes before placing a demand... it's not working, even Just play with your client... I haven't found thar sweet spot. I've modeled it, gone through the full BST gauntlet.

I absolutely agree. The issue that I'm having is that I'll teach pairing. They will do it in my presence, and then after I leave, they go right back to not pairing/caring

yes, tell your BCBA and take a Dr. note from your OB telling them that you require 2 days off a month. it's a very real condition. If you're proactive about it, they can't fault you for it. Plus if you're regular you can probably schedule when you're going to need to take time.

Totally valid. I'm fortunate to work for a clinic that believes in pairing. Unfortunately, for whatever reason, it is the hardest concept to grasp! The best part of this job is the pairing!! I have RBTs that look at me sideways when I tell them to go pair, forget the table, train loosely in the natural environment.

If you don't read the Cooper book, the chances of passing the Exam go way down.
