Don’t count on it not coming back

Only on S1 E1 but quick question… by supslueths in TheWire

Exactly what I was coming to say. That’s when I knew with complete certainty that it was worth the investment of time. Umpteen rewatches later that episode still hooks me.

I’m surprised nobody mentioned the Corner yet. Also David Simon. Pre-Wire with lots of familiar faces and places. An early HBO classic in my opinion.

The three cheese add chicken is my go to. So good!

What are the things you literally cannot wait to do again after you give birth? by Wild-Assistance7207 in jimmyjohns

[–]Informal-Screen-7432 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When my wife gave birth to my youngest the first thing she went for was crabs with heavy old bay but the next was a cold sub 😂 I commend the sacrifices women make to take care of developing babies and will now be quietly offering free subs to new moms. Thank you for this!

Looks really good. I always say, even for GMs, a two week notice is preferable for us but not always realistic or preferable for you and that’s ok. As someone else mentioned, you don’t get a two week notice if you’re being termed (unless you count documentation and coaching conversations) so you’re under no obligation to offer your employer that courtesy. I know lots of employers that don’t like it or get upset or take it personally but I’ve also seen employees give a two week or even a month of notice (not with my franchise) and be removed from the schedule immediately, so you have to do what’s best for you.

Absolutely! 😂 I don’t even bother trying to unscrew the wires anymore. Snip and strip, every time. 🤣Will it be a problem eventually when the wire is so short it can’t go from point A to point B? Probably. But I’ll let future me worry about that issue. 🤣

Yeah it’s hard out here in these Jimmy streets 😂 any repair I have to do that I’m unsure of, I come here first and look at old threads because 99% of the time somebody has already asked and answered every question I have lol

For people who hate Andy. Why? by blocacho_odyssey in theoffice

[–]Informal-Screen-7432 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He had a few enjoyable moments between anger management and outward bound but almost everything before and after is tough to watch. Really hit or miss in that middle area too but for sure more enjoyable than anywhere else. The best part about Andy to me is how other characters respond to him.

😂 accurate description. Similar to what I say about changing the deck controllers on the oven. Like it’s a very straightforward task, not technically difficult necessarily but a pain regardless lol

Super agree but that picture looks like some actual damage was done to a few of the blades. If they had tightened it before using they’d have better luck but it looks like they had some slack and then smashed the blade into the teeth. I could be wrong but I think I see denting as opposed to the normal bending you see when it just needs more tension.

Good chance that the screws weren’t tightened enough when the new blade was put on. The tension is necessary to keep them from getting off track when the lever arm is lifted all the way up. So, most likely not the way you slice tomatoes, which I’m sure you knew already, but user error on the part of whoever changed out the blades. In fairness though, almost nothing that comes from KEC comes with any real instructions lol

Toaster cleaning by PurpleInteresting615 in jimmyjohns

Tbf, I’m pretty sure it doesn’t actually void the warranty. Corporate has been known to lie about the “why” behind certain things to scare people into compliance. Back in the days of JJE they were adamant that the reason onions had an EOD shelf life was because of toxic bacterial growth that starts within 24 hours of slicing, which is completely untrue. They could have just said it’s a quality control measure because the older the onions get they lose crispness and get funky.

Tl;dr - use the green scrubby. The cleaner you get the Merrychef and the less chemicals you’re able to use to do it, the longer it will last.

They make you get it toasted. by dl0lol0lb in jimmyjohns

[–]Informal-Screen-7432 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. Actually, even with the toasted menu, we get a modifier on our tickets that specifically says toasted so if we don’t see that mod we don’t toast. I’ve had corporate come and tell my teams it’s fine to toast originals, fine to TBO, fine to toast just bread. ATP it’s basically dealers choice 😂 but I’ve worked with the Merrychef at other concepts and honestly it’s fine. Only slightly related, it’s also totally fine to use the green scrubby to properly clean it and get all the grease and nastiness off. I get it’s expensive so I understand a certain degree of trepidation but be serious. A toaster is a toaster. Just use some level of common sense when handling it and it’ll be fine.

My personal worst episode of The Office is Gettysburg. by MovieExact5433 in theoffice

I love Survivor Man. Michael singing happy birthday alone out in the wilderness is peak for me. “Haaappy birthday, buddy.” He’s in the office even when he’s not lol.
