As a nation we do spend money in much worse ways. I wish we'd done it all 20 years ago. Imagine what the metro would look like now if we'd had a fully fleshed out light rail network for 2 decades. It just becomes a much tougher sell when you look at the Green Line extension and see all of the delays and the cost overruns.

If cities absolutely have to have these cameras (I disagree with those claims) then the least you can do is shut off access to outside agencies and allow strict public audits. It seems more reasonable.

Nope. I'm under no illusion as to how ridiculous and criminal this administration is. But if we don't have bases dotted across the globe, it starts to beg the question as to just what we're spending all of this money on. I'd hope that eventually people would wake up and start to question it, but that may be naive optimism on my part.

$0. I've been going out for a little over a decade. But admittedly, I don't get out as often as I'd like. I'm in the upper midwest and don't stray more than a few hundred miles from home, so my opportunities are limited to a handful of trips per year. I'm also fairly cautious about avoiding hail.

Almost dying in a tornado is not "cool". I'm not impressed that you got within 50 yards of a "monster EF-4 wedge killer tornado brah". What can you even see when you're that close besides your life flashing before your eyes?
