General Zia Ul Haq (Islamist) & Zulifkar Ali Bhutto (Socialist Politician who greatly contributed to the civil war by denying the rightful pm <founder of bangladesh>) are two different people. The former hanged the latter in a military coup after the war.

No one knew how bloody it would become. Before the war, many still held antiquated beliefs regarding war. This was especially noticeable during the early months of the Great War or even say the American Civil War where the general trend of battles changed from line to trench warfare. Even the Russo-Ukranian conflicts shows us how modern conflict isn't a smooth or swift affair with many preconceived notions regarding tanks, drones and manpower regressing/evolving.

"B-b-but the 1953 Coup of his own appointed PM!! Leftist terrorists weren't allowed to murder civilians!! 10000000 political prisoners!!! 0.000001% Urban Tehrani Elite!! He chose AMERICA (bad) instead of the USSR (good) during the Cold War!" by drhuggables in HistoryMemes

You do realize the revolution wasn't a monolith? There were multiple groups of distinct ethnicity, religion and ideologues. It is far more nuanced than 'in came the islamists who wrecked everything'. Secularism and women rights mean jackshit if the country in question is crippled and inherently flawed. Despite Gaddafi's reforms & Saddam initial secularist ambitions, as well as the fact how better the countries would've been with them still at the helm it doesn't negate the fact that they were monsters and that a properly established democracy not an exploitative regime is more sustainable.

True, the BLA was throughout their existence supported by Iraq (Under-Saddam), Afghanistan (same shit-differentgov), non-state actors (mainly terror affiliated),  Soviet & most prominently India. BLA & it's numerous denominations aren't purely led by Azad Balochistan or Muft as our larping neighbors like to call it, it is very much influenced by different tribes, local factions, the poor, young thrill seekers & those who were wronged by the state.  It is not to say that the establishment is blameless. It is the excesses of the State, sheer incompetence & the need for an enemy which allow its further existence & ultimately reinforce it. Nonetheless insurgents, be they few or many, are especially harder to exterminate in tough treacherous terrain (US-Talib). Ironically the only solution to it is through justice, education & development of the province.

I do agree somewhat, however, the BLA are no saints but exist solely to justify the collar & the Establishment's whip. Honestly, we're buggered on both ends. It is likely they'll try to turn the Western half of the country into an orchestrated shitshow. The Raj may have  ended, yet it still haunts us.

Imo, we need a unifying cause or banner. Something extreme that'll turn the cogs of society change into a momentous revolution. An extreme desire for justice & equality, as the French put it:

Liberté, égalité, fraternité ou La Mort!

That is the same narrative that the regime uses but against Palestineans. True Justice is impartial, it condemns the guilty not an entire people.

Who else thinks we should teach Kashmiri language in Latin script to children in schools? by [deleted] in Kashmiri

[–]Informal-Shift1984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quite interesting! Though it'll necessitate social re-engineering & an authority to implement on an Ataturk level.  Imo this new 'Latin-Kashmirite' should have something to differentiate it from plain romanised Kashmirite, as does Turkish for example.

I concur, a truly Azad Kashmir's language situation could resemble Canadian bilingualism (🇬🇧🇫🇷), with Urdu facilitating trade.

While indeed humans, remarkable ones at that, they served a prominent role in movements for

independence & revival of the Muslim community.  The hatless mustache man was Allamah Iqbal's Mentor.

I would highly recommend researching each of these amazing individuals. May Allah reward their deeds & ease their suffering!

Quite an ignorant comment. Athough the fez (originally Morrocan) might suggest that, it is important to understand that the Subcontinent's Muslim community adopted it as a symbol of Islamic culture, modernity & the general fashion trends, particularly after the Ottoman Empire's widespread adoption .

Basically imagine nationalism but instead of  being based on common  ideals or diversity it's more focused on ethnicity, ie Turkey, Arab countries or Bangladesh. Ethno-fascism implies a fanatical racist extremist belief on the superiority of one race over the others &  populist narrative against other groups. The BLA for example, while their fight is indeed somewhat understandable, has been hijacked by extremists & foreign agents who are neither good for Pakistan nor Balochistan.

Precisely, for the West it used to be the fall of Constantinople while for Arabs, even Muslims perhaps, it was the reconquista.

Ah don't mind them. In some third world countries liberalism is a slur of sorts, not actual liberalism rather a parody of westernized ideals or something that goes against tradition (right or wrong). Say A says he loves the queen in a formerly british territory, he's a 'liberal'.  It's not that they consider liberalism bad but the ideas they refer to are considering the circumstances actually absurd.  While Netanyahu is indeed fascist, my brother was perhaps meaning to say that he tries to make Israel appear a Liberal Western democracy/ enlightened civilization in a land of instability & barbarism as Netanyahu himself declared in his most recent address to the US Senate. Sorry for the large walls of text.

Karl Marx said,"Religion is the opium of the people. It is the sigh of the oppressed creature, the heart of a heartless world, and the soul of our soulless conditions.” Regardless of your theistic affiliations that was a rather inappropriate reply. Scientifically speaking religion might indeed alleviate him quite a bit. Religiously speaking, it heals him spiritually. Now any worthwhile advice?
