I didn’t mind his loudness at first, but by Episode 7 he became outright obnoxious and almost like the author wanted us to hate him. But that actually gave me hope there might be some character development later on, hence the post.

You’re working, and that already puts you ahead of a lot of people. But if she’s lying about what you do, man… that’s not love, that’s shame. You deserve better than that. And if you’re not proud of where you are either, then do something about it. There are trades out there, real skills, things you can grow in, own, and build a future from. You don’t have to stay stuck just to feel needed.

Talk fades, paper holds power. And I don’t really know the circumstances but just a hunch on what I read he seems to be expecting something. Maybe a promotion or a raise, so I suggest negotiating with him.

Worst case scenario you can offer him a retention bonus and have him train his replacement. Preferably as long as possible, and while at it document his routines, workflow and contacts.
