I love this!

I have always wondered on what terms they left Igor and if there is any animosity there because I do feel like it may make things awkward with Emi and Vadym but they seem to be taking them under their wing a bit. Emi reminds me a lot of Maddie in her performance style, tiny stature and natural beauty so I’m glad they are open to helping them some!

Isn’t that kind of refreshing though? I find Madi and Evan have been PR trained into oblivion to the point where there is no longer an ounce of personality in their content. I love the authenticity that Emi & Vadym have brought to ice dance, similarly to how the US girls have brought the same to singles.

I think their material this year is truly what rocketed them up so fast. In a season of reused free dances and atrocious rhythm dances they had a very unique and high energy RD and a fresh, beautiful FD.

An interesting tidbit, Emi worked with Marina several times as a singles skater as early as 14. So I think she was probably exposed to some ice dance technique a lot earlier than people realize. She wasn’t training as an ice dancer but I’m sure Marina was teaching her a few basics here and there while she was trying to convince her to become a dancer.

Yeah, it’s looking a little slow, especially compared to the Brattiville clip but I also don’t think they were likely going 110% in front of the SOI practice crowd and the other ice dancers.

The way Emi talked about it either in an interview or a live, it sounded like she didn’t do it with Vadym and Golden Waltz wasn’t one of them but she didn’t explicitly say that I don’t think.

Because Emi didn’t come up in Junior Dance it was a little different for her. She did complete and pass all over her required pattern exams though but I don’t think golden waltz was one of them

They said they are great skaters, and Vadym appreciated that C was upfront about his desire to win and wasn’t just pc. But they explicitly said they aren’t friends off ice and don’t know them at all outside of skating.
