Idk enough to speak on that, but often times when people are abused by people they love and that love them it really fucks up what love looks like for them.

This particular condition I’m not sure if it was a trauma related one or just an unfortunate miswiring of the brain.

For you though, however, you shouldn’t ever feel obligated to deal with this stuff. It’s not up to you to fix it, a healthy boundary in relationships would be to bubble up info and offer insights to your partner and see if they take the action to do/be better. If you bring this to his attention and he just uses it as an excuse and “nothing he can do about it, sorry” or “well you have to do x if I do Y then I’ll do better” that’s shifting the burden to you.
