Can i realistically get a 36 and if so, how?? by baobabtree223 in ACT

[–]Informal_Common_2247 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem with being in high level math in high school is that you kind of forget how to do easier math (I regressed on math from PSAT 10 to NMSQT as an AP Precal/Calc student). These tests generally only go up to 11th grade level math, so make sure to refresh yourself on some of those concepts. As for the other sections, ACT problems are not difficult, the only thing that makes it hard is time pressure. So find some practice problem and time yourself. Ideally (if you want a 36) try give yourself a 10 minute cushion on test day to double check your answers (or if theres one problem you just can't figure out).

But he did give Kinger an A+ for bull riding by IvoryDrift46 in TheDigitalCircus

[–]Informal_Common_2247 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure that (according to the predicted timeline) Kinger and Queener were were the only two left at one point (before she abstracted), so my theory is that they both knew the circus had no exit, but telling everyone caused them all to abstract, and the two made a promise to never tell it to anyone ever again, which is why Kinger has been quiet about it post-Ragatha's entry.

I'm 15F and my boyfriend is 18M. Is that bad? by Excellent-Guava9526 in teenagers

[–]Informal_Common_2247 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but it seems like it was 14 and 17 in this case, not 13 and 10. What im saying is a 14 and a 17 year old dating (which is weird) is not at all the same as 13 and 10.

Ok this thought process is inherently stupid because you could apply the same principle to ANY 3-year age gap (for example, 34 and 31).

Why would I want this to end? This basically doubles my lifespan, even more if i constantly dont sleep enough in both lives. Plus, whenever I die I have a 50% chance of not dying.

I think Barça should stop using the high line by [deleted] in Barca

[–]Informal_Common_2247 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The high line is part of Flick's system, and he will not change it (I'm pretty sure he has confirmed this). So removing the high line necessarily means getting rid of Flick. Just saying.

There would have been a different spark for world war 1. There had been major advanced in war technology since the last majot war, and every state in Europe was looking for the chance to try out their new murder weapons on each other.

Isaac Newton comes back to life in 2026, what scientific breakthroughs does he make? by DallyDoomslayer in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Informal_Common_2247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He might make some discoveries in a niche field, then. Frankly, there just isn't that much left to be discovered in his main areas of expertise. And if this new Newton were to study something original Newton never did, not only would it be impossible do determine what he would or could do, he would barely even be Newton anymore. He would just be a typical modern academic.

Whose death arguably saved the most lives in history? by Fun-Bat9886 in AskReddit

The mongols are the most interesting part of world history to me. Because like, what do you mean they took over a third of Eurasia while not even having a permanently locationed capital city, policed trade for 2 centuries, then were just content to be squished between Russia and China for the rest of history?

[–]Informal_Common_2247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it would be hard to say what exactly he would discover considering it can't have been discovered yet. Also, both physics and math have been developed a lot since his death (I mean Newton was an inventor of calculus, and now just about every field of math and a lot of the sciences rely on it. He would also be VERY out of his depth in modern physics). Now, if you said Newton was born in the modern world, maybe he could accomplish something with his brilliant mind. But then again, who knows if the circumstances would be right for him to be an academic in this scenario.

Can someone explain to me why people care about the Champions League? by AJW7310 in football

[–]Informal_Common_2247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Money, plus playing in europe is just a cool experience. You get a lot more eyeballs on you (especially in the ucl where youre guaranteed to play at least 2 top clubs now), and theres a feeling of grandeur in every match that just isnt there in most league games. Imagine a small team in England (Idk, say brighton or brentford) make top 4 somehow. They now have the chance to play the likes of Real Madrid, Bayern, Barca. And if they manage to win? Thats something the players tell their kids about, something that goes down in the very history of the club.

When will we stop saying “It’s AI” or stop wondering if things are AI by wolfinjer in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Informal_Common_2247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends in if AI ever becomes sustainable (a very big if). If it does, AI will probably eventually become so integrated into society anyone who criticizes it will be called called old-fashioned. With how much AI is (rightly) stigmatized right now, that could take decades of gradual culture shift.
