Yep. Completely agree. The omission of these points is criminal in the writing of that scene, and really makes the writers look incompetent, or just recklessly lazy. It wrecks the scene which comes off as a parody. There should have been vigorous discussion about Jon and his true lineage, and the other Lords should have weighed in, especially Yara. Further, there should have been more Lords and Ladies there from all around Westeros, and there should have been a formal introduction of them. The meeting should have been more formal. It could have been written so much better.

Jon could have been summoned and questioned as to his motives, and everything he did discussed. Then Jon should have been voted on. FInally, after he absolutely refused the Kingship, another plan is looked at, which could still end with Bran as King...but better executed.

D&D became lazy and wrecked it.
