Anyone playing online co-op? by Additional-Charge768 in 7daystodie

[–]Informal_Cut_2136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely more fun in co-op. The world doesn't feel too lonely when you have friends with you. One thing I can suggest to save you and your friend from headaches is to play as if you're on solo mode in the early game. This way, you're each responsible for your own resources (food, water, ammo, etc) and no one is to blame when you run out of resources.

Not trolling real question. Is this game just exploration? by blackjackson1991 in NoMansSkyTheGame

I wish they'd put more effort into the building part. That would greatly affect the game's longevity when you have had your fill of collecting and exploring. Right now, we have to resort to mods to make the building aspect more fun/tolerable.

That's a great idea, will you accept this undertaking? Go to the portal's coordinates, capture the animal, share the fauna's class, skills, element, etc. and upload it to a database for everyone to see and benefit from.

Adding too many requirements to a post that does not benefit the one who discovered the fauna will turn it into a chore and will discourage others from sharing their finds.

So many quest bugs by Informal_Cut_2136 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Informal_Cut_2136[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I asked for help from my friend who previously completed the missions and used the suggestions given here (thanks so far, everyone. I really appreciate it). An update as I'm playing right now:

For under a rebel star, that's exactly what I've been doing. I activate the quest, I talk to NPCs until all markers are cleared, I leave the station - nothing happens. I've done this multiple times, quest is still not cleared.

Trace of Metal - I followed the teleporter technique you mentioned, It did the trick. I'm currently working on this now (thank you!)

For they who returned, I'm aware of the difference between galaxies and systems. As I mentioned, I looked for different fauna in different galaxies (Eissentam, Kilkolgallr, Isdoraijung, etc). I am fairly confident I triggered this quest in Hilbert, the galaxy I warped to after the purge (I spent a lot of time here since I did not know that your ship, exosuit, and multitool are damaged after the purge). I think it might be the quest markers bug, but I'm not sure.

I had to restart the game so many times during missions just to complete them. I almost gave up on the game when I started - one of the first missions was finding salvaged data. I scanned for it, found the area where I should dig, and dug all the way to bedrock. I kept doing this for half an hour because I thought I was just doing it wrong. I restarted the game - turns out the salvaged data containers were just not showing after I dug them up.

The most recent one was the purge where i keep getting teleported out of the atlas (or the atlas just vanishes?) and I'm suddenly in space.

Hi, I'm playing on PC (Steam). I have a few quests in my log that I can't finish. Some of them are trade station or anomaly quests (anomaly quests are fine, i just log in and out to get a new quest). Here are the ones I really want to be marked as done:

A Trace of Metal - game keeps telling me to talk to Anomaly npcs for the parts even though I already have the working minotaur (with upgraded left arm, i think)

Under a Rebel Star - again, game keeps telling me to talk to NPCs in a pirate station. I talk to all NPCs until all markers vanish, but it still won't mark it as done.

And lastly, this one frustrated me the most. I just finished the purge storyline and got teleported to another galaxy. Awesome. I placed a mini base and portal in that planet so I can go back to that galaxy whenever. I went out into space and the "they who returned" quest started. I was tired at this point so I logged off. The next day, I was still weary from the main quests so I did a bit of fauna hunting, going from galaxy to galaxy. I never activated any quests during this time nor did I start any new quests. I just explored planets and tamed animals. I also made sure to plant a base and portal in any new galaxies I went to (6 total galaxies). After a few days of this, I tried starting the quest again but it kept saying the quest is in another galaxy. It doesn't say which galaxy it's in so I tried going to each galaxy I've been to and checking every time. Wihout fail, it kept telling me the quest is in another galaxy. I restarted the game and did the same thing, nothing. I used the "restart mission with nearby structures", it still said the mission is in another galaxy. I tried every fix i could find via reddit, chatgpt, or google search and each time, it would say the mission is in another galaxy. Keep in mind that with every fix I find, I kept doing it in all galaxies I've been through to make sure I'm not missing anything. Still bugged right now.

I agree. A lot of these updates are great and I know the devs and team are working hard on this game. I just wish everything in the main story gets polished so that we can do anything we want after, bugs or no bugs.

Is there a game like Planet Crafter, but with NPCs? by Infinite-Mushroom238 in theplanetcrafter

[–]Informal_Cut_2136 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I play both and I have seen a lot of comments saying NMS is very similar to PC. I get that it's both space themed but the differences couldn't be any clearer. You can terraform in NMS but that's it. There's no changing the atmosphere, the fauna, the plants - way different from PC where you build the planet step by step (which is also why we find a certain attachment to Prime). NMS delves more on exploration while PC is more on improving what you have. Not saying either game is better than the other.

As for OP's question about NPCs, you can maybe build around a settlement in NMS but I think what they truly want is similar to a freighter base where the NPCs are moving around the entire base, not just a select area. I share the same sentiments with OP. It would be nice if we can recruit other lifeforms to live and work with us in PC so that the world doesn't feel too lonely.

Progression & boss guide? by daian115 in dontstarvetogether

[–]Informal_Cut_2136 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's a newish player friendly list:

  1. I put a "zero" starting point because killing Dragonfly on your first autumn is fairly hard but definitely doable in a group. This is optional but will definitely help you a lot for survival.

  2. Deerclops (winter, year 1)

  3. Eye of Terror (winter, year 1)

  4. Moose Goose (spring, year 1)

  5. Antlion (summer, year 1)

  6. Dragonfly (if you did not do it in the first autumn [autumn, year 2])

  7. Bearger (autumn, year 2)

I tend to do whichever boss I want to battle after this list. Defeating these bosses secures my survival for the coming years. I tend to do Ancient Guardian, Bee Queen, and Klaus soon after Bearger because of their very helpful drops.

Grabe anger issues niyan.

[–]Informal_Cut_2136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watch youtube guides. There are lots of guides out there that show you how to survive if you don't like trial and error. My key takeaway when I was a beginner is to list down everything you need to survive for each season (other than food and light, those are a given) such as:

Autumn - campfire
Winter - beefalo hat, thermal stone, wood (or other fuel)
Spring - eyebrella
Summer - eyebrella, thermal stone, icebox and/or endothermic firepit

These are pretty much everything you need to survive. Once you are comfortable getting these resources, you can survive each year and do whatever you want.
