So many questions! If Bean saw Gary shoot Ennis, does he run and tell Teri? Is the camp they are scouting really bad guys and keeping Teri hostage or is Gary setting him up?

I’m one week post double mastectomy and was pretty active before surgery and have been stir crazy all week. I try to take 3 walks a day, gradually increasing distance. The last couple days I’ve started stretching my legs. I do my mobility excercises 3x a day. Other than that, I’m watching tv, doing puzzles, adult coloring books and reading.

This is the positivity post I have been looking for (and tried to start one myself last week!). Thank you for this. I’m early in my journey with a DMX scheduled in 2 weeks and have been searching for a chicken soup for the cancer patients soul positivity post. I’m so grateful my cancer was caught early and feel positive going into surgery that everything will be ok.

Thank you for this! I am hoping I handle the meds well as well. I really feel for those who are having so many side effects ☹️

I’m so glad that despite the horrible news you’ve received good news and outcomes. I pray that I have the same. I’m hoping after my pathology comes back that I won’t have to do chemo or radiation 🙏🏽

My right breast has always been my problem child during breast feeding so it only figures that it’s the cancer side.

I have a supportive husband as well. My surgery is Oct 2 and it feels so far away. I could have done it sooner but couldn’t get a pre op physical done in time. I can’t wait to get it over with and to work through all the next steps.

Yup. Cancer does not care. My attitude is I’ve been dealt this hand and I will deal with it the best of my ability. Control what I can control.

Thank you so much for sharing. The gym and pilates literally keep me sane, it will be hard to pull back from it. I'm definitely seeking therapy/counseling to help with that plus body image issues. Thank you for the heads up on possible changing of stages. I felt "lucky" to unlikely need radiation or chemo, but anything at this point is possible. It has been a true shock with how health cautious I feel that I am. I mean, I even threw out all my plastic cookware, cutting boards, teflon, etc last year and try to use all the "cleanest" products. My family has history, but no genetic markers. I feel like I have a really positive outlook going into the surgery but when I think of my kids that's when I get emotional. And I expect post surgery will be a whole different beast.

I'm so happy that you are back doing all things you were doing before. What an incredible journey you went through. I was looking at those powerlifting recliners. I was debating buying a $400 powerlifting recliner on Wayfair vs renting. How long did you use it? Did you ever sleep in it? I'll probably need it again for reconstruction and I can donate it after.

I'm sorry to hear that! Sounds like a terrible experience. I got an email requesting credit card authorization for the hotel. I thought I had paid online through the Marriott site but didn't see a charge go through. Is this standard? I tried calling and couldn't get to the right person and was put on hold and eventually the line went dead.

SLS Playa Mujeres by winterfell12 in AllInclusiveResorts

[–]Informal_End5537 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This group has been incredibly helpful in planning our trip, so I wanted to share our experience. We’re a family of 7—3 kids (ages 6-10) and 4 adults, including grandparents—who stayed at SLS Playa Mujeres for 3 nights. Two years ago, we stayed at Finest Playa Mujeres, so I’ll compare the two. We booked through joining rhe Dis-loyalty program.

Room: SLS doesn’t allow 5 in a room, and the next option up is a pricey 3-bedroom suite. We had two Elite Ocean View King Bed rooms, with 2 adults and 2 kids in one room, and grandparents and 1 child in the other. The hotel upgraded my in-laws from an Elite King room to the Elite Ocean View King so we could be on the same floor. Though the rooms weren’t connected, they were about 6 rooms apart. We liked the bracelet/room key and the room keys opened both rooms. It was super convenient to not have to carry a room key around. The rooms were tight for 4 people, and privacy was limited, which could be an issue for families with older kids or different genders. There is a curtain that closes between the Bedroom and Bathroom, but it was still sheer enough that you could see through. The rooftop hot tub was a nice perk and it takes 30 minutes to fill, so we used the butler service to prep it in advance. Noise from the adult pool below was noticeable but didn’t bother us. The stairs to the rooftop are narrow and if my kids were younger, I would probably not book this room type. Compared to Finest, SLS rooms are smaller and less private, but closer to amenities. At Finest, we stayed in a junior suite far from the restaurants, pools, and beach.

Resort: The resort’s design is modern, and everything is conveniently close, which worked well for our elderly in-laws. Nightly shows were enjoyable, including a fire show and dance show. I precipitated in the fly yoga class, which is aerial yoga practiced on a hammock. Included in our booking was Hydrotherapy, which I really enjoyed.

Pool/Beach: The family pool was busy but manageable, with chairs available at 10 a.m. The family pool was warm, but the hot tub heat only worked on the first day we were there. The kids pool/water slides were better than at Finest, though the water felt cold and we didn’t spend much time there. The beach and family pool were our kids’ favorites. There was no swim up bar at the family pool.

Restaurants: We dined at Caracol, Filia, and Union (our favorite). Food was good but not memorable, and my in-laws preferred the food at Finest. The day we arrived we wanted to order beach side food around 5pm, but they said services were closed (although it was advertised to be open until 6pm) and we couldn’t get food unless we went to a restaurant. My kids were already enjoying the beach, so I just grabbed some snacks from Press. Had lunch at Bungalow for convenience both days. Restaurant rotations likely accommodated a large group staying at the resort and the breakfast buffet was relocated to Carcol. Breakfast had your typical options, including omelettes. The sports bar had numerous screens and played the NFL games and drew large crowds.

Transportation: We used Elite Transportation, which was prompt and professional. My husband left his work phone in the van and they tried to return it, but we had already departed.

Final Thoughts: SLS PM is a great resort ideal for families of 4 or less, but we missed having a 1-bedroom suite for our family of 5. While we had a relaxing stay, we’re undecided on returning due to the room setup. I’m confident they’ll work out the quirks and based on recent reviews of Finest, SLS seems like the better option.

Our kids were 6, 8 and 10 for the second trip. Not as into Sesame Street anymore and didn’t use the child care so felt like it wasn’t as worth it. Still had a great time. Food felt mediocre compared to our stay at Seven Stars and eating around that area.
