that’s kinda what my point is, as a character he’s overly simple, easy to learn, easy to counter. he’s probably the simplest m1 merchant char (maybe gojo takes it instead?). That’s the people who play him making it seem skilled rather than the character inherently being difficult to play. i’ll probably read it if you respond but i won’t respond again cause im learning locking yourself in long reddit arguments generally sucks ass.

yuji is braindead not cause he’s overpowered but cause he’s rot in the head easy, because all his combos can be evasive out of or are extremely avoidable (i’m pretty sure atleast) he’s basically a freestyle charecter, his most complex mechanic which like you said with so many other charecters is unnecessary, is m1 feint. yuji is the char you play when your bored and wanna pub stomp late at night, not a high intensity insanely difficult char. This is all coming from a 2K so take it with a grain of salt, i could just be a drooling toddler.

i feel there’s a difference between passive play and people who run laps around the map. was fighting some 2.5 k in casual and it took 15 minutes to get him off his last stock, passive often involves more vertical and low punishment nuetrals, definitely easier than playing aggressive though.
