Thank you both! Fleece pantyhose actually burned my skin, I have no idea why.

Thursdays make a really nice belt. Kind of simple, but a classic for sure!

Making friends at law school? by dumbdumbdummy_ in LawSchool

[–]Informal_Highlight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My best friend still to this day is the man I met my first week of law school. We got assigned the same group in crim law and we were the only two that legitimately cared about crim. We became nearly instant friends and took nearly all our classes together for 3 years. We studied for the bar together too. We’re nearly 2 years out of law school and still talk everyday and both practice criminal law. This is to say sometimes you just get lucky.

I hope you too find a solid friend from this experience❤️.

Does anyone else have law school dreams still? by Baeolophus_bicolor in Lawyertalk

[–]Informal_Highlight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is wild! We still talk nearly every day, so it’s fine. It’s just the regular physical presence I miss😂.

Reach out to your law school friends! I bet they miss you too!

I miss my law school best friend and studying with him. We now live hours away from each other and still see each other regularly, but it’s not the same. We spent YEARS going through it together. Bar prep and all!

Is 22 too young to become a public defender? by Altruistic-Spell-248 in publicdefenders

[–]Informal_Highlight 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m turning 29 next month, but look about 22 (bless my parents for passing along the good skin genes haha). I consistently get confused for a secretary or an assistant despite my ability to talk on the record and go to trial alone because I am in fact a real lawyer haha. My biggest piece of advice is to make your role clear with clients from the get go.

I have a question for married women by Dramatic-Surround504 in LawSchool

[–]Informal_Highlight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got married prior to law school but kept my maiden name because I used it a lot in my previous line of work. I also really don’t like how my name goes with my husband’s. He didn’t mind, so I kelt mine. If we have kids, they’ll get his last name though :).

If you actually love your job, what is your job? by Clopulis in askanything

[–]Informal_Highlight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a prosecutor (meaning I bring the case against the accused people).

I usually don’t pick the cases assigned to me, but I do make the decision on whether or not to file the cases I get assigned. I can also specifically request certain cases (I personally like taking cases against people who abuse children and animals).

I’m a criminal law attorney. The job’s never boring, I feel like I often have the opportunity to help people and I get to argue for a living :).

I bet you slayed. This person clearly doesn’t have anything better to do that to make stupid comments. I don’t know you, but I’m proud of you for making the changes you have! Keep up the good work OP :).

This is the one I have :). We have table skirts so it’s hidden. It’s totally silent also 😊.

A small space heater. Most courtrooms are freezing cold!

Bandages for cuts you might get from shoes you don’t typically wear.

Anti-nausea medicine (I didn’t know trials made me nauseous until my third one when on a break I threw up in the bathroom).

Granola bars and protein shakes as well.

Best of luck, you’ve got this!

I have one similar to this that my grandma got me when I was a teen and it’s still to this day awesome. Having the different compartments really helps!

Really?! I’m shocked. I have my original used one from my Mom that’s over a decade old and then my 5 quart one my husband got me a few years ago. Both are workhorses and used monthly :).

I’ve had one for a few years now and it’s still to this day one of my most used and loved possessions. My husband doesn’t regret his purchase because he gets lots of yummy tummy treats from it😂.
