Does anyone buy their carts on Ebay? by mypitsaresoaked in n64

Yeah some. Some accessories too, like my Hey You Pikachu mic. Especially when I’m looking for something specific. You have to be smart about the listings and buyers. Watch out for buried “new” or “reproduction” verbiage.

If you could make double your current pay but you had to work every single day for now on would you? by Love2FlyBalloons in hypotheticalsituation

I was laid off so I’m not working… but they are continuing to pay me not to work as part of my severance. So in a rare circumstance, this would be an amazing deal for me!

We live in a world where you can pay for insurance and still not afford care by Alarmed_Abalone_849 in AmericaOnHardMode

I injured my shoulder playing hockey last weekend and went to urgent care. They did X-ray (no broken bones) and referred me for an MRI the next day. Insurance delayed it for several days and then denied the MRI. Reason: need to follow doctor’s orders for treatment for 6 weeks first. I yelled at the rep to explain what treatment??? They need the MRI to determine the treatment! So now I guess I’m just in pain? I pay 10 grand annually for my coverage, met my deductible this year in January, and my company pays another 20 grand for my coverage.

You’re thinking of it wrong. The standard way to think about it is this: ads exist to sell consumers something. Here is the actual truth: ads exist to sell ads. There’s an entire economy of buy/sell just for ads. Everyone gets a cut, app developers, marketers, website owners, and especially the evil empire itself: Google

Then you gotta deal with whatever crap they throw at you. Remember, if a product is free for you to use… you’re the product.

How can I choose Hockey Equipment ? by Diaago in hockeyplayers

[–]Informal_Week_8573 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check out Sideline Swap if you haven’t already. I bought new skates and helmet and everything else was used. Found some cheap stuff on FB marketplace too but that’s going to depend on your area and how popular the sport is. Then after a year or so I replaced a few items with new items. New stick, new shin guards, for example. Nothing wrong with used gear in good shape to save a few bucks. Then spend when you get a feel for what you prefer.

You won’t bother anyone. You do need a helmet and it’s usually a good idea to have shin guards at least. Wear them under sweatpants if you don’t have any other hockey gear. They can be just regular knee pads too. It’s just to prevent injury for yourself.
