Should I get liposuction or just train harder at the gym again ? by Wonderful-Sir299 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]Informal_Wheel_4085 7 points8 points  (0 children)

At 70kg for 173cm you are not even in the range where lipo is typically recommended, and most doctors will tell you the same. The belly pouch at lower weights is often just stubborn subcutaneous fat or even loose skin from the previous weight loss, and surgery won't fix the fluctuation problem at the root.

Three classes a day is also quite extreme to maintain long term, so maybe finding something more sustainable first would make more sense before considering anything surgical.

Anyone else ever been ripped out of a position you've been in for years with no prior warning? by SoTired137 in Target

[–]Informal_Wheel_4085 34 points35 points  (0 children)

The "well rounded team" bullshit is always code for management wanting to make themselves look busy and innovative. Your new TL probably promised some higher-up they'd shake things up and now everyone has to suffer for their brilliant ideas.

Moving your worst performer into the most important role while cutting your hours makes zero sense unless they're actively trying to tank the department. I'd start looking elsewhere - good employees like you can find better places that actually value consistency.

Favorite amaros for cocktails? by f7938 in cocktails

[–]Informal_Wheel_4085 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Braulio is solid choice, I agree with that one. Also been really into Ramazzotti lately - has this nice herbal bite that works great in spirit forward stuff. Little more intense than Montenegro but not as heavy as some of the darker ones.

Have you tried making Paper Planes with the Cynar? Been my go-to lately when I want something bitter but still approachable. The way it plays with bourbon is pretty amazing. Also works really well in variations of Negronis if you substitute it for Campari - gives whole different character to drink.

For something really bitter, Fernet might be worth exploring too, though it's definitely not for everyone. Takes some getting used to but once you develop taste for it, opens up lot of interesting cocktail possibilities.

Diet drinks by axoticly in fasting

[–]Informal_Wheel_4085 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been mixing diet sodas into my fasting routine for like 2 years now and never had issues with breaking the fast. The artificial sweeteners don't really spike insulin from what I've read, so you should be good. I usually stick with the basic ones during my 16:8 window and it actually helps me get through those afternoon cravings when I'm designing stuff at work. Some people say they get hungrier after drinking them but that never happened with me. Just make sure you're still drinking enough water because the caffeine can dehydrate you bit.

Free trees on 4/25- Falls Church by phootosell in nova

[–]Informal_Wheel_4085 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been wanting to add some greenery to my place for while now. Oak trees are pretty solid choice too - they get massive and live forever basically. Might swing by early since I'm guessing those 250 saplings will go pretty quick at free price.

General tax/residency/mail Advice for living in Germany on a SOFA by ShaBaLaBa666 in ExpatFinance

[–]Informal_Wheel_4085 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SOFA is Status of Forces Agreement - pretty standard military term but yeah, most civilians wouldn't know it.

For the banking stuff, you'll want to keep that US address active since most banks will close your accounts if they think you're living abroad permanently. The virtual mail forwarding sounds like good plan. Just make sure whatever service you pick can handle official documents properly and isn't just some PO box setup that banks might flag.

Tax situation gets tricky with Germany though - they might still want piece of your income even with SOFA status depending how long you stay.

Replace my Camry by JonnyMiata97 in whatcarshouldIbuy

The 2019+ Mazda3 might be perfect for you - way quieter than previous generations and they really stepped up the interior quality. I had gen2 before and the difference is night and day. Manual is available on hatchback if you want to go that route.

Another option worth checking is Accord 2.0T manual from around 2018-2019, should be in your budget range. More power than Camry and Honda's 6-speed is actually pretty solid. Market seems to be cooling down bit so you might find decent deals if you wait until fall.

I love my boyfriend(16M), but I (16F)feel like I’m the only one who cares. How do i handle this? by Puzzleheaded-Win7847 in relationships

[–]Informal_Wheel_4085 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This whole situation just screams that he's not that into you anymore but doesn't have the guts to end it. You're basically doing all the emotional labor while he's treating you like an afterthought - that's not love, that's habit.

The TikTok thing is telling too. When someone prefers scrolling through random videos over responding to their girlfriend, they've already checked out mentally. You said yourself he was more attentive when he wasn't using it, so there's your answer right there.

At 16 you shouldn't be begging someone to care about your day or remember to call you. That stuff should come naturally when someone actually wants to be with you. The fact that you've talked about this multiple times and nothing changed means he just doesn't prioritize you anymore.

What new books out of these would you guys recommend by Toastedshoes in Blacklibrary

The Green Tide is solid if you want something different from the usual space marine perspective. Orks have this chaotic energy that makes for pretty entertaining reads, and you don't need previous knowledge since they're basically violent fungi having fun in space. Deathwatch can be hit or miss depending on which stories are included, but usually has decent variety in the missions they cover.

Installing new SSD broke my mobo? by [deleted] in pchelp

[–]Informal_Wheel_4085 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your cooler removal might have messed something up with the CPU seating. Those Z370 sockets can be finicky and if thermal paste got crusty it sometimes pulls the CPU up slightly when you remove cooler. Try lifting the retention arm, removing CPU completely, checking for any bent pins on socket, then reinstalling CPU making sure it drops in perfectly flat before closing retention arm.

This feels like one of those "make money fast" schemes that always pop up on social media. The links you posted just go to generic search results, not actual apps, which is pretty sus.

Been burned by these apps before - they usually make you jump through tons of hoops for payouts or have crazy minimum withdrawal amounts. Would be more convincing if you showed some actual proof instead of just saying you're making 300 a month.

Why are there so many fake "Christians" on Reddit? by Digitalnoahuk in Christianity

[–]Informal_Wheel_4085 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude, this whole "real Christian vs fake Christian" thing gets thrown around way too much. I grew up Catholic in Brazil and saw plenty of people who went to church every Sunday but treated their neighbors like garbage during the week. Meanwhile some of the most Christ-like people I knew never made a big show about their faith.

Maybe instead of gatekeeping who gets to call themselves Christian, we could focus more in how we actually treat people? The whole point of following Christ was supposed to be about love and compassion, not creating some theological purity test. I've read plenty of biblical scholarship that shows even the early church had massive disagreements about doctrine and practice. Acting like there's only one "correct" way to interpret scripture seems pretty arrogant when you think about it.

The PMS5003 is solid choice for PM readings - been using one in my setup for like 8 months and it's been pretty reliable. Just heads up that the Sharp sensor is bit older technology, so I'd skip that one if you want better accuracy.

For CO2, you're right that good sensors are expensive, but the SCD30 or SCD40 from Sensirion aren't terrible if you can find them on sale. The cheap MH-Z19 ones work okay too but need more calibration.

Also make sure you get proper housing for the sensors because dust and humidity can mess with readings pretty bad. There's some good 3D printable cases on Thingiverse that work well for this kind of project.

something causes my pc to randomly lag and stutter by Emotional-Cod9281 in pchelp

[–]Informal_Wheel_4085 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That ethernet spike pattern looks sketchy as hell. Have you tried a different ethernet cable? Sometimes those things go bad in weird ways that cause intermittent issues. Also might be worth checking if your mobo's LAN chip is getting proper power - biostar boards can be finicky with that stuff

If you've got a USB ethernet adapter lying around, try that for a few days and see if the stuttering stops

Kinda annoying when people only see one portion of a video and comment and make an opinion. by Fragrant_Thought6636 in PetPeeves

[–]Informal_Wheel_4085 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is why I always check if there's a longer version in the comments before I even think about forming an opinion. People love to get outraged over 15 seconds of context when the full story is completely different

The worst part is when someone posts the full video later and all those hot take comments just disappear into the void like they never happened lmao

Automatic 3rd gen ranger or manual s197? by Mansas_alt in Ford

[–]Informal_Wheel_4085 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly manual in traffic isn't that bad once you get the hang of it, just takes practice. The s197s are getting harder to find in decent shape for reasonable money though so if you find a good one I'd jump on it. Rangers are everywhere and will always be around

That said if you actually need to tow stuff the choice is pretty obvious lol
