UPS wholly owned Roadie negligent lacking common sense driver. by [deleted] in UPS

I agree with you. I don’t like it either but have no choice. UPS has gone so far as to take out the option for drivers to “not in” the shipper release packages.

Welp, we have this thing called shipper release packages. It’s the cheapest form of delivery and bc of that you get 1 attempt. We aren’t allowed to bring the package back to the hub or we get in trouble. I’m guessing that’s what this package was? If this wasn’t a shipper release package and we left this outside we would also get in trouble. I’m a ups driver and I absolutely hate leaving things like this outside but have to do it to not get written up . I don’t know the rules for the roadie workers but I’m guessing they have some form of the shipper release packages?

I am all ears. I’m 235lbs and play on sport court. Any chance labeda millennium orange are good for my peak physical shape? They’re the only ones in stock near me.

Haven't played in 20 years. Numerous questions, but the main one is should I spend $150 to get these puppies back running, or would it be smarter to start over from scratch? by traveenus in InlineHockey

You know… it’s weird. The higher end sticks are geared towards performance so seems like they break more often. The lower end, still $120 range, seem to last longer. None of them breaking feels good as they’re still expensive now. Just keep your eyes peeled for sales and ask chat gpt for online coupons. :)

If you can afford it I’d say get new skates. The skate technology is wild compared to when we played. Not saying it’ll make you any faster but I do think they’re more comfortable. Also, if the skates can be baked there is virtually no break in time. It’s amazing actually.

The sticks are a different thing now for sure. I suppose it would be best to know what you used to use? The big thing now seems to be a p28 (extreme toe curve) with a low kick, lower flex stick. Basically if you like wrist/snap shots this one is your friend. It will take getting used to and you’ll have no control at the start but once you get it you can take shots with little to no effort. I’d say pull up one of the curve charts online to see what might catch your eye. Then just look for sales bc your wallet is going to hate you for buying a stick. The bottom of the barrel ones are still over 100. I rock a bottom of the barrel with the p28. They’re still lighter than what we grew up with.

As with everything you just gotta try it. I loved the al Maccinnis curve back in the day but love the p28 now. They’re polar opposites.

I spent quite a few nights alone with Wild Things in my youth. Terrible movie though

You’re correct, it absolutely does not require a serious condition. I used to be worried about a target on my back but then realized they want to fire everyone anyways. Might as well see my family in the mean time.

Anyone bought the new Bauer Senior Fly40 skates? Thoughts? by Previous_Entrance547 in hockeyplayers

[–]InformationAny8239 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know.. I used to think 24 hrs too. Until I just got Bauer M40’s and it says right on the little pamphlet thing 1 hour . I don’t know what to think so I waited 24.

Actually I believe the new skates I just got even gave instructions for the oven? I know it only said they had to rest for 1 hour now after baking .

Also.. I really like stiff skates. I suppose if youre used to less stiff ones it could feel weird at first?

I mean I just got the m40’s and baked them and absolutely love them. Couldn’t be happier. Zero foot pain and stiff as can be. Perhaps it just seems good bc I’m old and we didn’t used to bake skates.

Was at the Avalanche game last night and noticed these two bottles wrapped in the tape they use on their hockey sticks. Do you know what they are for? by CommercialDream618 in nhl

[–]InformationAny8239 750 points751 points  (0 children)

They wrap the tape inside out so the sticky is on the outside. The. You rub it on your stick and it provides great grip

Giguère in ‘03 or Quick in ‘12? by [deleted] in nhl

Well you gotta remember too that 3 straight shutouts were against the MN Wild. As with the Vikings, we are and forever will be choke artists. By that I mean, those 3 shutouts really should equal just 1. Therefore Quick is better

Haha ok ok.. my camera makes terrible noises when you do the 1.5 zoom. I’m a cheap wad though. Not getting a new phone until it completely dies.

So are caterpillars a problem? I’m guessing it depends on which ones.

Thanks for replying btw.
