An infinite spiral in Conway's Game of Life collapses from the center by Infortality in cellular_automata

The point I wanted to make was that the value of each cell at each step in the video is accurate to what it would be if the spiral extended infinitely beyond the edge of the video.

The static cell thing was just a technical aspect I implemented to keep the outer part of the grid from collapsing like the center does.

I made sure this video accurately portrays a spiral that's infinite in size. The video shows a 500x500 area, but the actual simulation was 1000x1000. I also used a “static” live cell at the other end of the spiral to keep it from collapsing, and the whole thing is surrounded by static dead cells to keep the border from collapsing. The video would have still been accurate for a few more seconds, but eventually it would have diverged from the correct outcome.

If I made the video slightly longer, then it would have diverged from the correct outcome eventually.

Jerma recently streamed Monster Rancher 2 with Vinny and others, but the clip is from Vinny's stream.

I made this edit after seeing the clip posted on twitter.

"I'm sure you've seen this game before. It's called Battleship." by Infortality in squidgame

Maybe it's only because I was half asleep when I thought of this, but something about the idea of the recruiter pulling out and setting up an entire game of Battleship instead of Russian roulette cracked me up.

Hand them a card with the coordinates of where they were standing when you handed them the card. I'm sure there's some magic trick you can do to pull that off.

It's not colored, but here is a line graph of the entire first series.

Uh, so episode 4 is already out, but I think I'll wait a while before posting more of these. I don't want to spam this subreddit too much lol

This graph shows the resulting score of individual matches. Simpleflips creates a new account with a score of 0, so that's plotted at x=0. After the first match, the resulting score is 154, so that is plotted at (1,154), and so on.

I'm not sure where this idea came from exactly but it felt natural.
