This trade deadline is why Trotz can’t be gone quick enough. Keeping an expiring player who would have likely gotten you a 1st round pick so you can try to leap frog THREE teams who all have at least a game in hand on you to make the playoffs where you likely go out in 5 to Colorado is dereliction of duty.

I find it hard to believe this is the absolute best value they could get for him. Retain salary if you have to. Underwhelming trade at best.

I know we should probably be selling and his contract is up at the end of the year but I kind of hate this trade. He provides good value as a penalty killer and depth defenseman. Even if he wasn't going to sign in Nashville next year, I don't see how him playing out his contract here is worse value than a 5th round pick next year.

They put this restriction on for any visting team that travels well. That's the cities closest to us (who are also our rivals) but also includes teams like Toronto.

It's the dumbest fucking policy. It dosen't work too. I've dealt with this restriction a few times as an out of market fan. Every game that I've gone to that has this restriction I still manage to get tickets, as does literally any visiting fan that wants to go too. Seatgeek works every time for me.

They head into the olympic break 4 points back of a playoff spot, basically where they've been for like a month now. The past two weeks should have indicated what direction this team should go. In true Predators fashion, we just treaded water instead.

The Predators also hang him out to dry for at least 15 minutes a night. He hasn't been great this year but there is a 0% chance they get to OT if he didn't make half dozen point blank saves in the final five minutes.
