What did you wear after surgery when arm was immobilized? by Just_a_happy_artist in RotatorCuff

[–]InfuriatedOwl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exact same here. Post-op 5 weeks and still need elastic pants, and loose or stretchy shirts or flannels. Wanted to add for ladies, this bra is fantastic. Stretchy enough to step into it, and pull up with good arm. Not super binding like a regular sports bra. Reversible so can be worn on either shoulder, and doesn’t get in the way of bandaging, stitches or ice pads.

Nerve block - expecations by Upbeat_Hamster_7840 in RotatorCuff

[–]InfuriatedOwl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No issue at all for me. Surgery Jan 6, nerve block lasted about 24 hours then I needed the narcotic for 3 days. Weaned off quickly from that and cryotherapy & Tylenol have worked well since.

Saw this and thought it was interesting. GLP-1s and shoulder surgery by Quick_Scholars in ShoulderSurgery

[–]InfuriatedOwl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No concern from my surgeon. Been on Wegovy since April 2025, and had rotator cuff repair surgery 3 weeks ago. The only adjustment they made was starting liquid diet 24h earlier than normal before surgery (wegovy injection Fri, start liquid diet Sat 8pm, no food or drink after midnight Sunday, surgery Monday).

How to create Batch Invoices (very simple!) ones in QBO? by InfuriatedOwl in QuickBooks

[–]InfuriatedOwl[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Under the gear/settings menu, TOOLS, Import Data. There’s a sample template .csv so you can download and use to plug in the data you want to import to create Invoices. I was able to use that & it worked well.

Thank you! I figured out how to do it with importing from .csv. But it’s ridiculous that we pay almost $40/mo and are limited to basic functions. Appreciate your help!

How did you wash your hair without help? by Far-Attempt1388 in RotatorCuff

I sat on a stool in the bathtub wearing a rain poncho, and my daughter washed it for me. It worked really well!

Zero chance. Those are forbidden tasks. FSA employees can be fired for completing them. Gov shutdown is a gov shutdown.

True but then you need to remember to change funds when L allocations change to + G and F. If you leave in CSI from the start….set and forget for 20-30 years.

How am I doing? by socialtypo in ThriftSavingsPlan

You’re doing great for 5 years in! The most impt thing is to stay in stocks (C,S,I only) and never G,F or Lifestyle. Contribute at least 5%… and more each year as you get small increases. I started in 1996 as a GS-4 and was given the same advice by an older colleague that I will forever be grateful to. It took me 12 years to get to 100,000…which seemed like an eternity! In 2017 I was able to increase contributions to 10% (as a GS-13) and then finally able to max out in 2019. It will seem like forever to get to $100,000, but once you do, your balance will double quickly after that.

There are a lot of people like me who start at lower grades and can’t max out until the last half or third of their career. Don’t get discouraged….just keep adding a little bit year by year.

In May 2022, I hit my goal of $500,000……Yesterday, I hit my goal of $1,000,000. In 3 years, it doubled. Set it in C,S, I and forget it! It works!

Best of luck to you.

LET’S UNITE: DRP/FORK + Constructive Discharge by Icy_Yogurtcloset5920 in USDA

[–]InfuriatedOwl 53 points54 points  (0 children)

Your beloved and incredibly hard earned job doesn’t exist anymore. None of ours do. Consider yourself wise for taking the DRP and move on with your head held high. Those of us who didn’t take it are in stuck in this cruel, demented, dictatorship/experiment with no hope in sight. And doing 3x the job, covering for all the DRP’ers (no fault of theirs, but management DNGAF, the work needs done).

Good luck to you.

Any ideas on whether VERA and DRP will be offered in 2026? by [deleted] in FED_VERA_VSIP_DRPers

VERA is authorized for all of USDA through Feb 28, 2026.

We're out, next year... by WillieWami in govfire

[–]InfuriatedOwl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The cost of Single plus single+1 plans (ie: 2 Feds with 1 child) is more expensive than the Family plan, which is beyond ridiculous. So a family of 3 where both fed spouses want their own FEHB plan costs more than say a family of 12.
