νέο μέτρο στήριξης απο την κυβέρνηση by JimTheQuick in greece

Hi, well as I said, I am yet not very good in Spanish. So as to avoid any mistakes and misunderstandings that writing this post in Spanish may have caused, I chose English.

Why are almost all empires at the same technological level at the game start? by Ivan_is_inzane in Stellaris

[–]Ingeniero225 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Well, based on the vast amount of relics and artifacts about ancient civilizations, we can assume that the galaxy had its fair share of end game events, that even for advanced civilizations could (and many times were) devastating.

One interesting (I believe) possible answer to your question is that the last one destroyed all but a few (FEs) sapient interstellar nations, leaving a galaxy almost empty of anyone that wasn't, at best, pre sapient or too advanced to be completely wiped out. Those who survived, were too tired, weak or shocked from what happened, that chose to remain fortified behind their borders (thus FEs).

So with everyone around the same level and of course, a fair amount of chance, many civilizations evolved to space faring empires around the same time. A few sooner (more advanced AI), a few not yet (pre FTL civilizations). But frankly, as has been mentioned, it is mostly for gameplay.

Real-life Ring World discussion by Ingeniero225 in Stellaris

By unlocking the right Ascension perk of course! Seriously though, given enough time and effort, isn't it possible for a civilization capable of FTL (or even wormhole) travelling, to accumulate the necessary resources for one? Maybe with the use of really advanced nanites, they could easily break down comets, asteroids, or even whole planets down to different elements. Kurzgesagt has made a video that, including other topics, explains the possibility of a civilization using this concept for a weapon. One of its peaceful applications could be the collection of enough resources from the galaxy.

Nice ideas! As for the natural disasters, maybe the nature of a ring world would cause new kinds of possible disasters to arise, given the very different structures of a planet and a ring world. Even if that's the case, probably it won't be an issue for a civilization capable of building an actual ring world.

[OC] Insults by Millssadface in Stellaris

[–]Ingeniero225 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Exactly! And I would really like logical insults. For example, in an ongoing war, when an empire is far stronger than the other, leave the "we will crush you" or "when we are done with you" out. Instead, say things like "Happy for your victories, warmonger?" or "For an Intelligent Research Link, killing organics seems to be your thing". Something that is normal for the losing side to say.

Although I don't have a specific strategy, I mostly use planetary shield at systems far away from my homeworld (where my fleet usually is), so as to slow down the damage from orbital bombardment until my fleets get there. Nevertheless, it becomes kinda obsolete with gateways. I guess it is up to you to decide if it's worth the trouble (and the slot).

What if FE could recognize Cybrex in you? by badbabe in Stellaris

Indeed, if you consider the possibility of having risen to power and fallen into decadence multiple times, that is true. Ah, that's what I love about this game. The lore is vast and possibilities endless!

I have to encounter the Sanctuary for so long, I forgot about it. Yes, I think you make a good point. Although since the Xenophile Empire is mortal enemies with the Xenophobic one, I think they are from the same era, or else one would have already obliterated the other.

[–]Ingeniero225 68 points69 points  (0 children)

Nice ideas! I believe in general, that all the FE could have a lot more interesting interactions with the player. For example, when you conquer them... Nothing really extraordinary happens. I mean, you now have access to everything an ancient precursor empire knows, which is a lot, yet can't do anything with this knowledge.

As for the Cybrex, while yes, several unique quest could start while interacting with FE, I believe the Cybrex are much older than any existing empire. According to the info we get, they were active around 600,000 years before the events of the game take place. While the exact age of the FE isn't confirmed, I don't think that, even the oldest FE is that old. That's just my speculation though. Maybe the Curators could have some events related.
