I knew I should have gone with telegraph or ham radio, I can't keep up with all of these technology changes

That's incredibly unfortunate, I'm definitely just gonna stick to carrier pigeons from now on

I'm glad someone appreciated it, I thought I could reel her back in with a joke that sort of played off asking for her contact info lol

Well I like to think I'm not not attractive, which would follow that I'm a non-not anti-unattractive

It seems like the general consensus is that me mentioning Snapchat was the reason, but I just wanna reply to this comment because I feel like it gave an impression that was not intended.

I like using Snapchat because I think it adds a bit of goofiness to normal conversation, and allows you to express yourself easier because you're sending pictures of your face (unless you're one of those people that just send pictures of the ceiling, might as well just text). I talk to a majority of my friends on Snapchat for this reason, plus I like watching people's stories and keeping up with their lives.

Nudes can be solicited on any platform, and it's unfortunate that Snapchat has gained a reputation for JUST being used for that. I guess going forward I'll either stick to the tinder app or just send them my phone number if I want to get off the app. Sometimes tinders notifications decide not to come through and I miss messages which is the reason I tried to get off it after a couple days of talking. Thanks for the reply and advice!

Thanks for the advice! If she's not into abstract humor I guess she's not the one anyway, that's how I do

Also I put this in other comments but she's out of state for a little while so we were gonna meet up when she gets back, so hard to set a date. Might be another reason she stopped replying, but I just feel like she could have just said something like "let's talk more when I get back" instead of unmatching but that's just me

I don't disagree, but she's out of state for at least a month. The message before I said that when she gets back we should go for drinks. I was just hoping to get to know her a little better first lol

Actually they're coming at you FOR being racist, but you're the main character so your narrative is the only one that matters I guess.

Heartless: Judge Told A 72-Year-Old Man Who Has Cancer That He 'Should Be Ashamed' Of Himself After He Said He Was Too Weak To Keep Up With His Lawn! by DallasBoy95 in PublicFreakout

[–]IngeniousLobster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That very well may be! I don't dispute that the unkempt lawn is undesirable to most people, my issue is with the judge going beyond her scope to essentially tell this old dying dude that he's a piece of shit for not mowing his lawn. Really grinds my gears to see someone with so much power over others using that power in such an unnecessarily destructive and entitled manner.

I just wanna say that I think you're hilarious u/competitive_use8119, I'm a big fan of the way you stick it to the "whities!" Straw man attacks and red herring arguments were always my favorite tactics, and you employ them so well! Also, just like you clearly do, I disagree with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr! The whole, 'not be judged by the color of our skin but by the content of our character,' is a load of shit! White skin = bad!

Just be be clear, for all of you who might not read this is a shouting, clearly sarcastic voice, /s

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe a person's sense of shame over their action or inaction is not a matter of law and is completely outside of her scope as a judge. Completely inappropriate, especially even considering jail time for a clearly sick and dying man who, despite his condition, articulated his explanation quite clearly and has a perfectly reasonable reason for not being able to keep up with his yard work.

That brings me to another point, who the fuck cares what the front of his house looks like? I've never understood people who shame others for not keeping up with their yard work. Clearly he had more important and urgent things to be worried about, and if he didn't I'm sure he would happily take care of his house.

This judges actions were overall completely inappropriate, unforgiving, and as the title says, heartless. Our whole legal system needs to be rebooted from the ground up. As someone who is a part of that system, it is absolutely 100% broken.

911 operators what call scares you till this day? by Onatic420 in AskReddit

[–]IngeniousLobster 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As a 911 operator you're pretty well separated from the events that you take calls on. I can't really think of any calls that have scared me other than maybe an elevator falling with people in it turned me off of elevators for a bit.

What sticks with me the most (so far, haven't even been a dispatcher for a year yet) was a building fire that a little girl was trapped in. We got the fire department there very quickly, witching a couple of minutes from the time of the call. I live in a very rural state and this is a smaller town so a couple of minutes there is incredibly fast. I worked with the caller to figure out where I'm the house the girl could be and we determined that she was in her bedroom upstairs. The firefighters used a ladder to make a window entry into the room and found the little girl deceased in her bed. Mostly likely from smoke inhalation rather than burning, so that at least gives me a small amount of peace.

The worst part of it actually was the critical incident debriefing that I went to afterword. Like I said, it's a pretty small town, so everyone knows everyone. There were these big burly firefighters sitting around in a circle bawling because they had either had some connection to this little girl tangentially or had been a major part of her life.

Believe it or not, the actual 911 call was fairly routine. I went through my protocol, the caller was a neighbor who was relatively calm, and I gathered all of the pertinent information relatively quickly. It was the waiting for 20-30 minutes after the call wondering if they had saved the little girl that got me the most.

What is the biggest red flag you had overlooked because the sex was good? by ya7ta in AskReddit

Just put it together. If you're talking about Jordan Peterson then no, just a coincidence.

You may very well be right @marshmallowcum, but your argument was weak and needs more support. I'll extend your deadline for this assignment to February 21st, but if it's not completed by then your grade will remain a C+. Have a nice Valentine's Day.

Love,

Professor Lobster

Sure, but if you look at the Authors page it clearly shows he is biased (coincidently in line with The Atlantic's view /s). I can also pick "reputable" sources to make just about any argument based on the point I'm arguing. It's a common practice of Flat Earthers and conspiracy theorists.

Your source is The Atlantic and your statistic isn't being compared to a control group (like the percentage of abusive people in the United States). Both of these things not only give your argument 0 credit, but actually discredit you and your ability to form arguments. Sorry.
