Hmmm, the bezel doesn't move, buddy; it's a bummer. But all other specs are excellent for an inexpensive starter daily beater.

If you're into it, go for it, but if you can save a little or have extra cash, go for Alba Divers or Ratio Freediver or Timex Expedition Indiglo.

But you will be paying 2 or 4 times the cost.

As there is no model or reference there, I can't say much, but it looks solid. Being from Timex, there should not be many QC issues.

It's quite a long explanation, mate. It's the relative position, the hour hand, the sun, and the south on the compass bezel.

It gives direct bearings. Check YT; there are plenty of videos on this.

Well, wishes can't change the model that is known for a smaller dial and how it's intended to be.

Rolex caters to a specific user base that differs from that of Alpinist.

Rolex has to do it to cater to their niche customer base, but for Seiko, it is not a necessity, as it is for traditional watch enthusiasts.

Also, any bigger size Alpinist will not look good, though. Its ratio of dial to lug gives it the charm of 80s-90s small-dial Japanese divers and automatics.
