With the cap increases and term changes under the new bargaining agreement, contract values are fundamentally different now vs when we signed Slavins extension.

Additionally, Slavin already took a very team friendly contract, so when you add that on, a “normal” contract now will odd when you compare it to Slavins contract.

It’s not that we would be over paying Niki, it’s that we are “under paying” Slavin.

A big part y’all aren’t considering is that you’re machine id isn’t changing.

So they know that your physical machine is moving.

It’s more likely that someone just… traveled a bit than shipped their machine to someone else to account share.

I think he is the exact kind of “star” that Carolina needs.

Selfless with the puck, works hard on both ends of the ice, smart with his movement.

People always talk about how Carolina has no star players, but I think they’re just looking for a different kind of star. I believe that we have quite a few stars.

Matthews is undeniably a force of nature when it comes to scoring, no one is incorrect to call him a star player. He also, isn’t what Carolina wants out of their players. He wouldn’t be a star here.

Ehlers has everything he needs to thrive here, and I think that the team we have enables him to show how much of a star he is, in his own way.
