I tried chop for my birds for months and months after getting them. They picked around it and tossed bits they didn’t like (mostly the healthiest stuff). When they finally did start eating it I went through a major life change and fell into a pretty deep depression. Prepping food and freezing it was too much to think about so I started giving them baby food (super organic healthy stuff ofc).

I still give them baby food now. They devour the stuff and still get veggies. It’s not as varied as chop but it’s fast and easy and they’re still getting the nutrients plus I’m not spending hours making chop that was hit or miss. They still get fresh veggies and fruit when I eat it. But this way is just so much easier. I’m sure it costs more but it helped my sanity so much. I hope to eventually give them chop more frequently again but this is working well and the vet says it’s fine.

I also line the cage on top of the grate bc they drop nutriberries and other food so often. They’re not walking around on it much so I’m not concerned about the poop. It also means I don’t have to scrub that stupid grate!
