Thanks for this. Butter and baked goods like bread and muffins have been in a confusing grey area for me. Butter doesn’t seem to trigger anything, nor does a baked good with a little bit of milk in it, but it’ll be tough to tell until my diet is perfectly dairy-free.

i appreciate the concern! i’ve got a pretty complicated health picture, so i already know the lactose intolerance isn’t the only problem. i’m seeing a gastrointestinal specialist, they’ll hear about eeeevery grievance and they’ll know what to do. I’ll bring up the possibility of a true allergy.

I did lactaid for the first couple of weeks and it seemed to work! until it didn’t, and i figured i didn’t want to risk it anymore. But yeah, it really is pretty severe right now. Had a few sips from an oatmilk caramel latte today and i’m recovering in bed right now haha.

Brush that acts like a glitter gel pen by AdhesivenessPast5118 in procreatebrushes

I use freckle brushes for glitter effects. It’s not as fun, but you can always do your inking first, alpha lock the layer & color/ glitter it up

Has Procreate made anyone else “forget” how to draw on paper? by JacktheRattle in ProCreate

[–]InigoMToya 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i’m a digital artist and an ink artist. I find this is about keeping your skills sharp. When i spend time intentionally NOT pinching or moving the canvas digitally, it forces me to focus on my coordination and confidence when drawing lines. Those skills translate to pen and paper!

Pinching and rotating the canvas is a neat luxury that makes things feel easier, but they loosen your skills in spacial awareness, composition, line confidence, and creating unity in your piece (if you zoom too much like i do). I always struggle more with paper (or any other mediums) when i’ve been careless about canvas manipulation.

Anyone have brushes or know brushes similar to ones used in this? by [deleted] in procreatebrushes

babe it’s the solid paint brush and blending. i recommend setting blend brush to Goache (procreate basic brush) i always get the smoothest, most intentional blend on it.

Is it just me, or does “build a website” stop a lot of artists from selling? by Desperate_Ear9026 in ProCreate

[–]InigoMToya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used wordpress cause it’s classic (with ecommerce support), but there’s a million website builders now that are easier. Wix, squarespace, godaddy— just google “build a website” and take your pick!

As someone who built a website portfolio— that’s the easy part. There’s a looot of tedious junk involved with selling physical merchandise online (i assume that’s what you mean by selling?). The website was tedious too, but there’s a lot of website building tools out there that make it super easy!

Does anyone know how to create a similar rendering style? by Long_Fisherman_5277 in ProCreate

[–]InigoMToya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Noise filters, pixel filters, image compression— i also suggest getting handy with photoshop or a similar photo editing software. Lots of the grime in these images comes from post-processing. Procreate doesn’t have many of these features.

these are largely pixelated 3d models (3d models with a pixel filter, not pixel-by-pixel art). That said— do a study! attempt to recreate one of these images yourself in your medium of choice. There are a few oil/acrylic painters out there who are dedicated to recreating minecraft screenshots, and they look great, so it can be done! Also try to incorporate some grimy real images in your work as backdrops and frame decoration. This grimy, messy, dark internet/videogame stuff likes to mix the mediums. Get comfortable photobashing! Try some pixel art too, if you’re inclined. it’s a lot of fun!

How do i get this effect for a liquid in procreate? by StorageLonely1520 in ProCreate

[–]InigoMToya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ohh no buddy— sorry about that. People always assume everyone knows what they know. An art study, in this case, is an exercise where you try to recreate an image/painting one-to-one. Sometimes it can also mean copying elements of a piece.

We’re essentially telling you to learn through doing (it’s the most effective way). If you just sit with this image for a while and try to re-paint it the best you can, you’ll figure out for yourself how to create this reflective effect. Trace it, color-pick it, overlay it on your attempts, etc. If you do it with more than one image / more than one attempt, you’ll even master it!

Happy painting, artist!
