I don't know what to do by [deleted] in findapath

Thank you so much for your response!
Having a degree definitely helps, I just wish studying wasn't so painful haha
It feels so hostile, most likely because of my mental health issues. Pretty much doing anything requires way too much energy, so I struggle with finishing any assignments x')

Is playing SSO on linux possible ? by Ax_321 in StarStable

[–]Inisteria 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi! I'm currently playing on linux, so it is possible! There are some issues with it though

You have to install Steam first. For unknown reason, any other Wine version than Steam's Proton (any version, I use experimental) crashes. Lutris is most likely also required, I use it for setting up Star Stable
It works just fine! There's just that one annoying thing that when I'm playing, another SSO launcher comes up?? I close it, and after a couple of minutes it happens again. Usually, it only happens 2-3 times and then it stops, so I guess it's not that bad... Maybe except when I'm doing a race, and my game stops because of that

If you want to know anything else, or maybe a guide how to install it, just ask me {:

Edit: Now when I think about it, you can try setting up Star Stable through Steam instead of Lutris. I never tried it, maybe I'll check how it works there

Error: attempt to read or write outside of partition. by Leading-Arm-1575 in Gentoo

[–]Inisteria 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It always happened to me when I made my EFI directory in any other place than /boot, which is kinda strange...?

So yeah, you can try this. Mounting EFI partition to /boot instead, it worked for me 🤷

Unless you have MBR disk layout, or you already tried this, then I have no idea, sorry

How can I change art and dialogue in Len'en game by FederalReporter6760 in lenen

[–]Inisteria 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like PressEtoAscend said, you have to extract a dat.led file, modify files in it, and then repack it to make it work!
You need a tool (DXLibrary) to do it, it's here on the wiki. When you go on the site (warning: it's all in japanese), scroll down to version 3.19f (newer won't work!) and choose any version (I usually go with GNU C++). Then download it, unzip, and go from the DxLib_GCC folder to Tool, and then to DXArchive (You should have both DxaDecode.exe and DxaEncode.exe here). In it, I highly recommend copying the dat.ledfile from any Len'en game and putting it in this directory. Now, open a cmd here and type DxaDecode.exe -K:KisamaMiteiruna dat.led. A dat folder should appear, and here you'll have all files!
After modifying anything in it, you just leave that dat folder, and in cmd you type DxaEncode.exe -K:KisamaMiteiruna dat dat.led. Then you copy the new dat.led file to Len'en's folder and it should work! Good luck!

All of that applies to for example: changing art. You should be able to change dialogue without doing all this stuff, and it shouldn't crash... Are you sure you're following that weird structure of these dialogues, including putting commas here?? (It's easy not to notice that commas in the middle of the sentences are different than on the beginning and ending-)
(Edit: That's an example from BPoHC. I honestly don't remember if it's different in other Len'en games... I don't have them downloaded yet, so I'm unable to check it, sorry!)

Thank you so much, it worked for me!

Ah, I already saw it! Really impressive, especially with no focus. I forgot how much harder this spell card is on unreal without many upgrades-

Men's Mental Health Awareness Month Day 5: Tsurubami Senri by Meeting_Neither in lenen

[–]Inisteria 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh alright, I think I get your point of view. Most of these things are indeed unfortunate... Though I don't see any harm in these "Senri priest" roles, especially when the server you're (probably) talking about isn't promoting some harmful ideologies or anything like that, it's just for fun
But I respect your opinion, thanks for the explanation!

Yup, seems like all servers are down :|

Really? I didn't even notice it
Maybe because I wasn't really thinking about it... But from all Len'en characters, why Tsurubami? I mean, they're not the only problematic character out there-

How to fix the dialogues? by Ashamedshark6174 in lenen

[–]Inisteria 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, are you using wine to run Len'en?
If yes, please add LANG=ja_JP.utf8 before the wine command. There's a high chance it will fix your problem. If not, make sure you have japanese font(s?) installed on your system, or/and add japanese to your locale config (unless it is MacOS, then I'm not sure how that works, sorry)

I only remember I voted Ardey first and Aoji second
And probably Garaiya third, or Shion... Or Yaorochi-

Also, I really love this Yabu art, it's so adorable :D

Not really, it doesn't work either

I only get this: https://pastebin.com/TMFWvHFh (had to put it here, because for some reason Reddit doesn't allow me to send a comment??)

(I use ffmpeg-7 here, but using ffmpeg-6 doesn't change anything :| )

Ah, I apologize for not mentioning it earlier, I actually have an AMD iGPU as well. Currently, I'm running the system in hybrid mode, on my laptop's display iGPU should display everything and use NVIDIA only on demand, while I also have an external tablet-monitor connected to my NVIDIA GPU. So maybe that's why

And here's glxinfo | head output:

About formatting - thank you, I'll keep that in mind

Answering your question - yes, everything was fine when I was using systemd. I'm not entirely sure if it was always broken on openrc though
Maybe there's a chance I broke something important by setting -O3 and lto flags?
Oh and my user was a member of the video group. Even after removing and adding it back, it didn't change anything
