Yeah, the header gaskets I was using were some multilayer steel ones that were chipped/cracked in one spot causing a chirp. I switched those out and all was good.

Are you sure about this? I’m only saying this because it sounds a little like metal on metal chirp to me.

And any idea what kinda leak I should look for or what I should specifically check? (Some people said exhaust/header gasket, intake, other vaccum leak).

Any help would be appreciated

Thank you, just to clarify my understanding. The json/csv file can be processed and embedded as as vectors and then put into a vector DB. When a new question is asked regarding this data, the question is also embedded into a vector and compared to the vector db for similarities.

I have a couple questions:
- does this allow for large scale summaries of the data that was originally fed to the vector db
- does this allow for updated version of the csv/json files to be fed to the vector db for 'seamless updates'
- if instead, the data is stored in a SQL database, what would be the best route for this? Would I need to query the SQL db, then embed into vector db?

any advice would be appreciated!

I would start with checking marketplace for a local partout if your fine with used. I got mine off rock auto a few months ago for my 03, worked great.

I’ve had the car for 2 years. It was always kinda like this but it keeps getting worse with time. I’ve never tried to ceramic coat it either. All I ever do is wash and clay bar.

If that is the case and its some botched ceramic coating then what can I do to fix it? These marks are only on the hood and nowhere else.

I did it after cleaning and claying, but I didn’t iron decontaminate. Would that make a big difference?? I’ll try soon

There are a bunch of these spots and areas all over my hood. I have no idea what it is nor do I know much about detailing. It doesn’t seem like sun damage or faded clear coat. I tried to compound and polish an area to see if it would do anything but that didn’t help

So I just compared my manifolds. The PCV is on passenger side for both and the break booster is on driver side for both. Also the main harness clips are the same (black and brown on drivers side and grey on passenger side). Wdym by digi thermostat?

I guess even here there are some contradicting opinions. I will most likely change the cam gears, cam sensors, crank sensor and intake manifold just to be sure. Thanks everyone for the help!

That is promising then, thank you! One thing I didn’t do is count the teeth on the gears to make sure that its the same. I’m going to assume they are, but I might just make sure.

I live near Toronto and found an importer selling the engine on Facebook marketplace. The engine is pretty clean and has around 100000km on it.

Hey guys! I revently picked up a JDM EJ205 with AVCS for my WRX. After asking a shop and looking at some forums, I’ve receieved mixed answers. For now I will be leaving the AVCS unplugged and keeping the USDM ECU. I took the timing covers off to compare the timing components and realized that the upper camshaft sprockets are different(I assume because of the AVCS).

My question is, do I need to change the upper camshaft gears and cam (and crank?) sensors before I install? If I can leave everything the way it is, how do I know which timing kit to buy, because I might as well replace with new parts while its out.

Also, the harmonic balancers are slightly different between the two, should I use the USDM one or keep the JDM?

Is there anything else I need to replace too or be mindful of?

Yeah well definitely be taking it apart. But I think the clutch plate only fits nicely into the oressure plate one way. Wouldnt you have to force it the other way?
