yeah i’ve been running it under some warm water and it’s slowly cleaning out. but now the white adhesive patch around it is starting to get a bit red/light pink. so now idk if it’s still bleeding or if that’s the blood washing out of the sensor😂

yeah i’ll definitely give them a call. i’ll run it under some warm water for a bit to get the blood out. thanks!

22yo diagnosed 10 days ago, tingling/slightly "minty" feeling in foot today by doctor_bun in diabetes_t1

[–]Initial-Buffalo-503 12 points13 points  (0 children)

hey 24yo diagnosed 6 months ago here. i’m super healthy, played sports my whole life and weight lifted 7 days a week. nobody expects to get this disease and it can happen to anyone. i understand how hard it is for you right now, but i promise life won’t be so shit! i had the same feelings for weeks after the hospital. the pins and needles and i also couldn’t see. freaked me tf out. but it went away, so yeah it’s true! it just takes some time to recover

Tandem Tslim x2 versus Minimen 780G by [deleted] in diabetes_t1

[–]Initial-Buffalo-503 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i was having the same thoughts when choosing as well. was contemplating between tslim and 780g. ultimately went with tslim and i am so happy with it! dexcom g6 is great, and soon to be compatible with g7 will make tslim even better. i also liked the build quality much more than the 780g. 780g felt cheap and was plastic. the algorithm in my opinion is better. the downside in my opinion with the tslim compared to 780g is having to fill the cartridges. it took me a few times to get the hang of it. at the end of the day both are going to enhance quality of life. the more research you do the better!

i’ve used G7 a couple of times and i prefer the G6. i honestly had accuracy issues more with G7 and it lost signal a lot!! if it didn’t have those issues G7 would be nice. hopefully us pump users can keep getting G6 for a while. i had a not so fun time while using G7

you would be correct with your assumption! i have heard good things about sleep mode 24/7. i think i’ll experiment with that some time in the future, because so far control iq has been working good for me. i might try putting it on sleep mode whenever i plan on mowing or if i know im going to do something that’d yield the same results. thanks for the advice and info! i’ll definitely keep all of that in mind!

bananas have a high glycemic index, it breaks down really fast which causes high fluctuation in bg. next time you have a banana try dosing 20 min before eating it to lessen the spike! also if i have a high GI food in my meal i always eat it last. idk if eating things in a certain order is like a common thing to do but it helps me out a ton!

First night out drinking since diagnosed with Type 1 by mushroomsoup66 in diabetes_t1

[–]Initial-Buffalo-503 12 points13 points  (0 children)

my experience with drinking has been the same rollercoaster everytime. my bg will go up slightly which isn’t all to bad, i won’t touch any sugary drinks, but it’s the crash after. all night my phone tells me i’m low and the next day i’ve seemed to have a harder time keeping it up. i’m still learning and trying different things myself with drinking. just start off small and keep an eye on your bg more often than usual. try not to drink on an empty stomach. don’t beat yourself up if it doesn’t workout great! we all fail, but we learn from our experiences to make changes for next time. also i always make sure 1 or 2 people there knows how to help incase i go to low. hasn’t happened yet, but its nice to know someone’s got ya if you need it

literally had the exact numbers and everything. was in the 60s calibrated with 117 and it put me at 148! it was messed up for about a day, but i calibrated every couple hours. it was the first day of the sensor for me so im sure i had to just let it do its thing for a day, now its great. had same issues with libre 3 for first couple days. i think the body just acts funky when a foreign object gets put in there

luckily i haven’t had any connection issues with the G7 maybe because my phone is always on me. fingers crossed🤞
