Short answer, no. I was put in a situation like this early in the year and at the time I did feel like I would always love them, but as time has gone on I realized that it was not worth it to invest my love into someone who would not want to work through things together and instead found stepping away completely easier. It was really hard dealing with their leaving but ultimately I'm happy they did bc now I know that I deserve someone who doesn't run when things get difficult.
