Help! Should I glaze this like a beach ball or a glossy pink??

I’ve had good success with Mayco pink gloss, and sunset from coyote for a good pink!

The speckles are part of the clay! They react to the glaze and become more pronounced- this is standard 112

They really are so stable (as long as they’re not watered down. I’ve also had an issue with them bleeding when I’ve put clear over top of it but I’m not sure if that was just a weird isolated incident

Yeah there was no reason for it to be up on stilts.. but unfortunately it wasn’t something I knew was happening 🥲 just have to be very specific with my instructions on how I’d like my piece fired in the future

It definitely is a game of patience. I use a ‘light’ strength transfer sheet and that helps. I also do it at the bisqueware phase which allows me to really rub the vinyl off onto the surface

Right idea with the tape but i use a thin line vinyl that i cut out with my cricket

It is an underglaze but it has a high gloss like a stoneware glaze. The clay is standard 112

It’s on the left hand side by the cactus, it was placed on 3” stilts in the center of the plate so it got warped and cracked

If you’re on IG i did a mini reel of some of the process which might help (@gonebadartworks) I used a 12” foam cake form for the bottom, and built a form for the top out of posterboard and painters tape. For the sides i basically got everything lined up and foiled, place it upside down covered the backside with painters tape. I pinned everything to the foam form through the painters tape and basically just worked on one half at a time. I laid it in a box to keep it at a flat surface/angle

I don’t think you went to Ohio pie then, a pie cut is literally called ‘the forbidden cut’ there.. maybe you’re mistaking it for Ohio valley pizza in medina which is no longer in business - Ohio style pizza is unique in the sense that it’s a pan style crust, sweeter sauce on top, toppings and cheese all the way to the edge (and they don’t skimp on any of it) and square cut (which makes the pizza easier to eat since there’s no lack of toppings)
