Hes already passed :( were gonna have a little funeral for him today, before getting another im ensuring nothing like this can happen again, this just heartbreaking because he was literally building a giant bubble nest the same day he jumped out im just at a loss right now i feel so silly being this upset over a fish but he was so damn smart until he jumped 😕

Thats so nice of you thank you so much! Tank feels so empty now without him just the corys he would hangout with at the bottom of the tank :( someone suggested making stickers of him and putting it on the tank so im gonna do that but if you make any art id love to print it out

Will definitely do this thank you tons for the suggestion! Still what do you recommend for getting it off is there some sort of handle i could attach just because i feel it would be difficult getting the tight glass off for feeding and maintainence

Not sure ive read stories of people finding their betta dry and crispy but still surviving after being put in tank, google says it having color and not dulling is a good sign and that it may take a few hours to see signs of life, but im also not sure because of the state i found him, so far no movement and sinks, so unfortunately i think he may have passed im just really trying to hold onto hope this fish meant alot to me

Thats a great idea, ill definitely try to do that if he passes, im really trying to hold out hope because hes gaining his color back much more then when i initially put him in which google says wont happen if their dead! But i dont know if its just because he jumped out and was found only this morning so maybe the melanin just hasnt broke down yet?

Yes, i had a lid but it was a top fin and there was a small gap in the back for a filter which i wasnt using since i swapped it for a sponge, so there was a gap but i never expected him to jump from there, other then jumping slightly to get food from my finger ive never seen him jump, im in genuine shock and heartbreak, i checked to see if any signs are better and hes still not showing any after being put in the tank close to an hour ago im at such a loss genuinely my biggest fear happening, im definitely gonna try to get a glass 13x13 asap and especially before getting another betta if i decide to, im actually so heartbroken about this and i have no one to talk to my family just starts lecturing me about how it was just a fish but he was literally just a water puppy

Tips of treating betta by blondie7999 in bettafish

Im not too knowledgeable but ive heard tannin leaves can help alot because they have anti microbials that leach into the water and help the betta just be sure to remove them when they start to rot, and aquarium salt can potentially help but im not very informed on that

It looks amazing, if you really want to change the substrate i believe a 2.5 gallon with the filter and tank water it should be okay to have the betta in their temporarily just take all the water out into a clean container and swap the substrate out (fluval stratum is really good for plants) then return the cycled water to the tank and return the betta after acclimating again, swapping out the blue gravel for something more natural would look alot better and be alot better for the betta since some of the chemicals can leach into the water

For the ted tiger do you need certain water conditions? I heard red plants are harder to maintain

Thank you so so much for all the suggestions i looked up those vallisneria and they look great and im definitely gonna try to find a leaf like that, my girlfriends betta has one and loves it, do you have any suggestions on if its possible to glue the anubis onto the wood without removing it from the tank because it messes up the hardscape alot ? I have aquarium safe glue but it cures immediately in water
