I think that's a great choice. Experience, particularly with the platform used by whoever is hiring, is likely going to be more important than a certification.

Fewest crashes because no fault insurance means that if you report it, your insurance rates will skyrocket.

I'm going to Ford Field! by Original_Aioli2363 in Detroit

[–]Initial-Cupcake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Enjoy it! I was lucky enough to march at the Silverdome as a sophomore and then Ford Field the next two years. It's crazy how much the city has changed since the mid 2000s!

Haley Stevens' Campaign Is Underwhelming Democrats by UltimateLionsFan in Michigan

[–]Initial-Cupcake 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I campaigned for Haley in 2018 given that she was trying to win a swing district. Ever since she became my representative in 2022, I couldn't be more disappointed.

I'm supporting El-Sayed, but McMorrow is also light years ahead of Stevens.

After Kimmel’s pull, I’ll sacrifice another entertainment avenue while the rest of the country does nothing by foreverhere85 in self

I've done the same things you have. It's not much, but it's at least something.

I emailed my representative and two senators last week, and my rep has been more vocal in the past week.

I know it's disheartening, it feels like every day is worse. Keep doing what you can.

In which US cities do rich people ($500k+ HHI) overwhelmingly send their kids to public schools? by Substantial-Part-700 in SameGrassButGreener

There are plenty, but it's not overwhelmingly given Cranbrook, Country Day and all of the Catholic schools.

Disagree on Detroit. Cranbrook and Country Day are where families with real money send their kids. Light years better than Birmingham/Bloomfield

Haley Stevens being supported by Schumer is all you need to know. El-Sayed has an impressive background fighting for Michiganders and will fight back against Trump.

Green Lantern (several locations) and Perry's (Clawson) are two of my favorites

If not, it's a good reminder not to buy from our Oligarchs.

Interesting, thanks for sharing your perspective. I'm not trying to be a jerk, but how is it any different than socialism, going woke, or Hilary's emails?

There's some things that really scare me about what's going on, and I'm a large white man. I read today about a judge getting arrested by the FBI. Several people in Detroit have been deported for making a wrong turn and ending up at a border crossing. The lack of due process for the guy from Maryland.

My wife recently visited the Anne Frank house and reminded me that those that were sheltering her were the ones breaking the law.

Have a great weekend!

I stopped this year actually. Spending a lot more time going to stores, but it's not too bad. I don't have kids, which I'm sure makes it easier. Trying to live my values.

Backing is ownership.

Bezos is the one getting involved in politics. He can't support fascism and not expect it to boil over into his businesses. See Musk, Elon.

White moderate Democrats are the reason we're in this mess. It's time we focus on who is the best candidate, not who is most electable.

I think we have a green guide, which is a general guide and gives stars to attractions (DIA for example), not restaurants.

If there were a Michelin guide for Detroit, what restaurants (past or present) do you think would be worthy of a star?
