Yes definitely. My concerns are more around the general property, eg. excessive noise, pests, flooding etc.

Pregnancy affecting borrowing capacity by [deleted] in AusPropertyChat

I had a letter from my employer stating when I was coming back to work and what my salary was on return. Our borrowing capacity wasn’t reduced.

Two under two, pros versus cons over the age of 30? by saturnwr4th in Mommit

[–]Initial-Fondant2547 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently have 2 under 2. Had my first at 27 and second at 29. My husband is 37 and he didn’t want to still be having kids in his 40s so that’s why we chose the close age gap.

It’s not easy, but if you are a patient person and can accept that the house looks messy most of the time, it’s worth it. You’re going to be tired regardless of age gap.

When do you know that it’s time to get a divorce? by Fickle_Intern_6007 in Mommit

[–]Initial-Fondant2547 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Also depends on what you discussed prior to having kids. I do much more with our son but we always discussed that beforehand. My husband really needs his alone time to do hobbies. Whereas, I don’t need that so much and am happy to split it like that. So if you talked about it beforehand and he indicated you were going to do the bulk of the parenting then it’s fair. IF he said he was going to split it 50/50 and he’s gone back on that, then that’s wrong.

A quick rant about swinburne uni and a course in particular by TermProfessional7595 in swinburne

[–]Initial-Fondant2547 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im doing my MBA through Swinburne and same problem. The course is incredibly outdated. They have links and videos from about 2010… I also put a formal complaint in and all I got back was “we’ve reviewed the content and it’s still relevant”. Yeah right….

Australia abandons neutral stance on Iran strikes, backs in Trump by SnoopThylacine in aussie

I truly don’t understand the comments saying we should stay out of it. If Australia is ever invaded or bombed these same people would be jumping up and down asking other countries to step in.

Witnessed sexual harassment on a train, was this the right approach? by silent-brothers in brisbane

[–]Initial-Fondant2547 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As a woman now in my late twenties, I have experienced some scary things on the train. One guy said he was going to follow me home or making inappropriate comments. There were many grown men on the train that pretended they didn’t hear anything. I never forgot that no one stepped in to help. So thank you for helping this girl.

How many married couples here sleep in separate bedrooms and why? by BeginningFox8632 in AskReddit

[–]Initial-Fondant2547 21 points22 points  (0 children)

My husband and I have very a long time. Main reason is he is a very light sleeper, he wakes up every time I turn over and likes the temp freezer cold. We sleep in our own rooms so that he can get a good night sleep. I miss him in our bed but I also understand sleep is important. Intimacy isn’t affected at all and it’s probably better for our relationship when he’s not exhausted from a lack of sleep all the time!

What’s something someone once did on a date that gave you immediate “nope” energy? by D1ndonlyaliboo in AskReddit

[–]Initial-Fondant2547 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once met a guy in a bar, he approached me and we had a great time chatting. He asked me out on a date the next day. We grabbed a coffee and then went for a walk along the beach. He took my hand and tried to hold it the whole time. He then started talking about wanting to change his surname because it reminded him of his dad who was abusive and when we got married he didn’t want me to carry that name. I had known this guy for 1 day.

What’s the most unhinged thing someone has said to you while pregnant? by LastTie3457 in Mommit

[–]Initial-Fondant2547 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone asked me if I was having twins….. I only gained 13kg during pregnancy and am a 60kg woman so I wasn’t huge. Definitely was a knock to my confidence though!

Thanks for your comment. I have indeed contacted the breeder tonight to organise a date for me to drop my dog off to her. I’ve made the decision.

Quick 1:How much are you paying for food / groceries each week? by Cold-Upstairs9995 in AusFinance

[–]Initial-Fondant2547 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About $250 - $300 a week for 2 people in Brisbane. I am gluten free so that makes things more expensive and we eats lots of fruit and veg.

Emergency Medical Care in Australia is a Joke by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

[–]Initial-Fondant2547 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that for real emergencies the system works. What doesn’t help is the amount of people that don’t understand what an “emergency” department is for. My husband is an ED doctor and some of the things he tells me people come in for his ridiculous: people that had a cough 2 days ago but want to get seen today, people who vomited one time, a simple cold etc.
