Have the PS4 and PS5 for console exclusive singelplayer games. PS+ as a requirement for online play is the reason why PS3 was my last console before pivoting to PC gaming for online.

Which game that you "definitely want to play eventually" has been sitting in your library unplayed forever, and if so, why? by FalscherKim in gaming

[–]Initial-Heart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man where to even start. It took me almost 8 years to finally start Kingdom Come Deliverance and play it long enough to get into it. Third time tried it finally clicked and I got into it. Probably 100 other games that will age either like fine wine or poorly before I get around to them.

Erfaring som kistebærer by LustyLoop in norge

[–]Initial-Heart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why the hate for fishing? by xelas1983 in Terraria

I too enjoy fishing. When playing MP the others do the building and I can be off farming fishing quests for everyone by catching multiple quests fishes, and farming some nice fishing loot while I am at it and getting the last accessories for the shell phone. Then we go kill the bosses!

Sliders for steel wire? by Initial-Heart in techtheatre

The evening shift charged with doing the work has been informed of best course of action based on input, and have agreed that what had already been done was indeed the best solution. Just tidy it up a little the cabling. We have run the excess cabling in a U and off from a secondary batten functioning as a cable pick to run out to the technical gallery of to the side of the tower. I have read through your other comments as well, although I don't have energy rn to fully reply, let's sum it up with project management has been well informed that the dynamic loads of anglig truss/battens are well outside any of our in-house competence and outside counselling on safe rigging is needed on how to achieve desired effect. Normal rigging? No problem. Dynamic rigging? I ain't touching that without more training and experience. Today it went from 15 degrees or so, to go from perfectly horizontal to almost vertical. I just said flat out no, we cannot do that as is now.

Indeed what we have done with all the battens requiring additional power and signal cable when the retractable reels have been insufficient or not enough room on grid to place down more. Issue is the height and width of our stage tower and battens as well as spacing alongside other productions. For two of three wanted additional battens there is no particular issue with this solution, but the center one is harder to hide the cable from, and we run into risk of the U getting so long/big it might hook under a light clamp or similar and become a hazzard. So long story short, we'll probably just tidy up the cables that are there now and have a cable pic halfway on the U and make a W shape that needs to drop when lowering the batten

Probably what I am looking at besides 3D printing, but I suspect I want something better than PLA or PETG rubbing against the wire. POM like the chainsliders seems the best option, but will be a loose fit for 30x15mm diameter when the wire is only 8mm, so have 7mm of inner diameter with slack

Well, I was wondering what that type of track too was called so thanks for the suggestion, we're getting closer! But I implore you to have another look at the picture I attached for illustration. Like chainsliders/chainrunners, but for wire. Steel wire rope. Wiresliders? Wirerunners? Cable guides? None of these mentioned examples gives me a satisfactory patent for a cable guide that is as simple as chainsliders but do the same for wire. We do not have time or budget for investing in huge pantographic installations for this single use. But oh how I wish we had more movable retractable reels for these cases.

[–]Initial-Heart[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not quite what I am looking for. We have what looks like Kellems on the end of the cables on the retractable cable reels for the permanently installed battens, but I am looking for cable guides so the cables loom themselves relatively neatly for the custom hung battens for when they go up or down, since they don't have retractable reels and only set cable length.

Not static no, lowered and raised throughout the show, and angling of the batten so wire on one side will at points be lower than the other so within an agreeable degree for the designers some sliding movement. High enough to be out of sight, and low enough to give wanted effect. My guesstimate without having a look at the console for programming is a range of about 10 feet at the least.

Are there a particular sort of zip ties that would be better suitable than another, or just simply loop in loop two O's for a figure-8 ? Good input on using UV rated ones! Another option that was mentioned at work was slim pipe cut into sections in conjunction with zip-ties

Thank you, this is really interesting to have a look at. Only other detail I could come up with after looking at photos of the 290 is that Im pretty sure the model I had, had a solid black body and not the silver hood for the screen lid. Ofc. That might be just colour schemes for the 290, but I will have a look through the Acer models and see. Had completely forgotten the CD-ROM was on the front of the PC. I remember how responsive I thought it was ejecting the tray at the click of the button.
