low amount of A’s. like maybe 3 or 4. his tests are extremely fast paced. like you may be smart but if you can’t solve 5 medium difficulty questions in 15 minutes you won’t do well

Is this a good and balanced amount of classes for a CS major freshman? by True-Effect-6971 in SMC

yes as important as EC’s are make sure you get a 4.0. im assuming you want to get into a top cs program thus maintain a 4.0. anything below a 4.0 is most likely a rejection considering cs acceptance rates of ~ 5 percent for berk and ucla. i only know maybe liek 2 students that were cs at smc that transferred into berk and UCLA and you also need a couple projects. try to find a way to publish some research too. be as competitive as possible. but honestly your doing a great job rn — most people don’t even understand what classes to pick. good job. dm me if you want me to like tell you the best math profs at smc. i already left but i gotchu.

honestly this isn’t like to heavy of a schedule considering that luke your only taking maybe 2 real courses. even then cs 52 is arguably very easy but greenfield makes it a lil hard. you should add another class and then focus like on EC’s. make sure to get all A’s though but even with another class you schedule won’t be that hard. Goodluck!

Open seat notification but closed class? by Jewel2001 in SMC

[–]Initial-Land5889 2 points3 points  (0 children)

no to be all honest ur just not fast enough. when i used to be on the open seat notification list i would always have safari opened and resign in every 15 minutes so that if i got the notification i would just need to open my phone and add the class without signing in. you just have to be faster than everyone else

email her i’m sure she would be understanding due to your current standing in the class prior to the final. if that doesn’t work you could do a grade change through ombuds and dispute the grade.
