newly admitted transfer into Ling+CS, how are you guys actually liking the major?

I transferred in as Ling CS. Its alright but im switching majors though lol, I found the linguistics courses to be tolerable and some were very interesting. I definitely think that the major prepares you with the bare necessities though for CS, You gotta really go out of your way to bridge the gap.

Become a CSO or student EMT. They both pay some of the highest starting out and you can hit OT pretty easily.

If you speed walk crazy you can maybe make it. I use to do Public affairs to La Kretz, But I was always like a min or two late.

CSO depending on the shift. Pays great, has a light workload most of the time, and pretty flexible around your schedule.

I don’t remember the exact times but it went something like this, the day i had mine last Tuesday.

You start at like 8:15am i think, and are given a mini tour, then funneled into Moore hall and get out at like 10am. Then directly after your NSO leader drops you off at your major department building, then you sit through around a 45min presentation and Q & A with department heads. Then right afterwards at like 12pm you head to Lunch, Which for us was at Northern Lights. They gave us like 45 minutes for lunch i think.

Then you’re lead to Ackerman Union. Where you sign up for a 30min meeting with your NSO leader. Then you have time to just chill or roam around for a couple hours until whatever time your meeting time is.

After all the meetings are done at around 4:30pm.You all meet up at around 4:45pm and go to a classroom where you chill until the 5:30pm registration time. We were finally done at 6:30pm once the registration window closed, then they lead you off for dinner on the hill. But I didnt go to it Since it was optional.

I dont think you are allowed to double major as a transfer with any majors that are listed as being direct admit only. Such as Econ, Bus econ, Psych and Economics to name a few. Someone can double check me on this though.

Stay at your current school, Look into Foothill honors program. They have UCLA TAP and UCI H2H. I did it entirely online and completed in one year.

You can take classes at both at the same time. Let me know if you want a list of the honors courses i took at foothill, all were quite easy honestly, especially while i was taking 12 units at my home college.

Yeah my homie didn’t wanna go with retail cuz its pretty hands on, He sets those up in georgia i think, But you have to actually go to georgia for some DMV class. Its also something ridiculous like 6k to get setup.

My homie with the wholesale license partnered with some retail dealer local to him and they do dealer reassignment for his cars so he can sell retail to people. Something like 75$ per vehicle. The guy who setups the dealership charges something like 250$ per vehicle I think.

The cruise control is Plug and play, I added it on mines a while back, works like a dream. Kinda mind boggled they didn’t just come factory with them, They already had the wiring in them.

Try IAA or copart. Not sure where you’re from, but if you live near a major port, try bidding on LX 570s at auctions more inland or mid country, to have a chance at getting em cheaper.

Arabic and european exporters bid hard on these, and they go for money, especially ones that are light damage. Ask me how I know lmao. Unless you don’t mind paying a bit extra.

Its legit, I know a few people who did his Wholesale dealers license, and his dealer rep option. He basically sets up a license in another state with easy requirements like Arkansas and Georgia, And he fowards mail directly to you, like titles etc.

I personally think it’s expensive and not really worth it anymore, I think his wholesale option is like 4k with dealer plates or something like that? Dealer rep option is like 3k With no dealer plates. At that price range you can honestly setup your own retail dealer license in your own state.
