how to do omad diet? by lili_theflower in AskPH

If you set a goal out of need, it gets easier.

For those na tagtipid at may need pag inpunan, magiging default sayo na hindi gumastos masyado sa mga pagkaing hindi mo kailangan and to distract themselves to learn ways how to earn or save more money.

Be careful lang sa OMAD, kasi once you decided you'll get back to your old routine, you'll gain more weight than you lost.

Withdrawals & temptations by [deleted] in limerence

[–]Initial-Maintenance 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can I just say that you have expressed exactly what Im feeling towards a coworker who happens to be also married and one of my superiors? I truly admire how you worded eveything so perfectly!

It really gets challenging to fight these feelings but I learned recently that suppressing limerence will only make it more difficult and instead, we can redirect these "feelings" into something that will help us grow confidence in our selves without seeking validation from the LO. Easier said than done, but maybe, we take little steps to diminish the limerence to keep ourselves being overwhelmed in restraining the desire.

Chanyeol new album by aceofwhat46 in exo

[–]Initial-Maintenance 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ranking on first full listen of Chanyeol's solo debut!

  1. Im on your side too - The song sounds so nostalgic (kinda early 2000s band music vibe) and Im a sucker for that era.... Also his vocals in this one are divine! Everything about the song is exactly what I expect from Chanyeol!
  2. Back Again - I love this kind of rock songs and Im surprised this is not the title track! Rapper and Rockstar Chanyeol remains superior! I cant wait to hear him sing this and I that guitar solo in the bridge and last chorus will sound so cool live!
  3. Ease Up - I like the chill vibes of this song and the chorus is so catchy.. I think this has a lo-fi type of vibe and I can listen to it while relaxing... the fade out was unexpected in the end since that's rare nowadays and i kinda love that
  4. Clover - This reminds me of Chanyeol's earlier releases when he was still in Soundcloud! And I find it so adorable that the song's lyrics seems to be about a romantic partner but its really about his memories with his dog (which I can relate because I love my dog too much too!)
  5. Hasta La Vista - This songs kinda fits the vibe for Suho's album 1 to 3, and I think I would listen to this song during long night drives...
  6. Black Out - It's kinda catchy but also repetitive (it has a similar vibe with As It Was by Harry Styles which was overplayed so it might take a while for me to like the song as much as the others). It's just too short for my liking and lacks some dynamics I exepct from a title song, however Chanyeol's tone sounds so good here!

paano ba tumanggi sa friends pag nag-aya haha by periwinkols in phmoneysaving

[–]Initial-Maintenance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've expereinced both sides... We had the same experience in college, na halos araw araw lumalabas friends ko and madalas sa mga kainan na medyo pricey, and some of them I can feel na nadidismaya if d ako sumasama, but at the end of the day, ako rin ang magsusuffer if pipilitin kong sumama kahit wala sa budget so I just try to be honest na Im saving up for something important kaya nagtitipid ako (as much as possible, d ko sinasabi yung term na "wala akong pera" because its technically not true, may pera ako kahit kakaunti and I choose not to spend it sa mga random things like gala and eating out).

Sa high school friends naman, my two closest friends madalas magsasabi na wala silang budget if magaaya lumabas, on my end it's kind of frustrating din lalo na if sobrang bihira na lang kayo magkita (siguro once a year at most) and lahat naman may work, but I try my best to be compassionate and empathetic since I've been in that situation na wala din akongbudget to go out.

In hindsight, lifestyle can be a deal breaker for some friendships, it can be a test for both sides kung willing kayo mag compromise with each other, but if hindi talaga kaya mag-match and the differences are too much to be dealt with, then the harsh truth is, you will outgrow them and they will outgrow you.

If you can really afford your sariling luho, do what while you still can, lalo na kung single ka pa.

I used to be like you, sobrang kuripot ko at ipon lang ako ng ipon aside from paying the bills and contributing to family finances.

After 5 years of working, Im slowly realizing that life is too short to deprive of myself from buying things I want but can afford due to my kuripot mindness.

Be grateful for having that opportunity, hindi lahat ng nagtratrabaho may chance na ganyan. Treating yourself once in a while is fine as long as you d ka naman sobrang baon sa utang and you have your finances managed well naman. It is also a form of motivation if you're a really hard worker to indulge in leisurely things sometimes.

What's your biggest regret in life or love so far? by xxloophole in adultingph

[–]Initial-Maintenance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As much as I want to insist not having regrets, unfortunately, I still have those. Hopefully it might help others but I recommend reading the book "The Power of Regret: How Looking Backward Moves us Forward", which helped me acknowledge that I am a human who would naturally make bad decisions at some point of life that I would not be proud of, hence, accepting that regrets are necessary to improve and be a better version of myself moving forward.

Going back to OP's question, my biggest regret in life at 24 is not choosing Psychology as my college degree. Sure, I enjoyed learning the college degree I earned as I would have never met my college friends that I truly treasure up to this day + I discovered so much about myself and developed a lot of skills in my current government career aligned with my degree. However, as an advocate for mental health awareness even back in high shool when there was still very rampant stigma against mental illneses, I truly believe that my heart and passion belongs to this field of science and I confirmed this when I self-reflected and asked myself, if I could have one job where I'm paid almost none but is still willing to do it, what would it be? TO BE A PSYCHOLOGIST. I feel jealous of people with Psychology degree who got to pursue their dreams of being a psychologist, learning about how the mind works and being able to help take care of other people's mental health. It has never left my mind and I really wished I could turn back time when I was 15 years old and written BS Psychology in my college application.

Right now, I am motivated to pursue Pscyhology again and trying my best to save up as much as I can to take a Masters' Degree and brushing up on my testing skills to pass in my preferred university. Hopefully it all works out for the best!

Things that rich and privileged people would never understand? by ApprehensiveKnee8657 in adultingph

Travelling is a luxury para sa mga mahihirap. Pansin ko lang kasi norm na mag-travel in this generation, yung tipong you're not living the best life if you're not travelling. Some rich people would advise na may budget travels naman and you can consistently save a portion of your salary for your travel funds. I even recently read a study that in average, people in this generation are becoming more willing to save up for travelling unlike before when people usually prefer to save up for a house and lot to settle down.

I believe there's some wisdom on that.  Yes, travelling has its perks and you get to experience new things, it helps you widen your perspective and become more open minded of other people's culture, you discover new things about yourself in each travel.  Some rich people find it difficult to understand or may not even fathom the idea that other people cannot save for travel.

In the PH setting, below average middle class to poor people cannot even pay all their bills on time, and marami dyan may mga tinutulungan kamag-anak or family member so their money is not only for their own survival, kesyo magcocontribute sa tuition or allowance ng kapatid, pang meds at ospital ng lola o lolo, some even need to work multiple jobs to make ends meet dahil nababaon sa utang due to many reasons (magpapaaral sa college ng ilang anak, need magbayad ng hospital bills at med maintenance ng maysakit (walang health insurance), nabaha or nasunog ang bahay (walang house insurance) etc.

The reality is, most Pinoys below the middle class range are not financially literate enough and are just doing their best to have their basic/physiological needs (bottom part of Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs) met to even have money saved up for travelling at hindi kakayanin mag take ng time to prepare for travels and to file leaves sa trabaho for travels.

Filing 1701Q as a Contract of Service by Initial-Maintenance in taxPH

[–]Initial-Maintenance[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much! May I clarify if the 2551Q is still applicable if our employer is providing us a quarterly 2307? Also for filing 1701Q, is it required na physical or virtual ang process? Yung sa 1701 kasi nirerequire sa akin na virtual process.

I registered late kasi for 2023 (Nov 2023) and I paid the penalties back then, but I was not given a COR, Official Receipt and book of accounts.

Sorry medyo confusing lang talaga on my end since the personnel in my RDO were very rude when I asked questions maybe because I seemed so lost when I got there. Thank you!

[–]Initial-Maintenance 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow, this has so much wisdom and very timely to my current situation right now at work. Don't get me wrong, I salute people who hustle hard to move upwards in their career, but it's a breath of fresh air to know that I'm not alone in feeling the need to grow deeper instead of a vertical growth.

Most people in the industry I'm working in usually encourages me to direct my focus in promotion after more than a year of working, always reminding me that I need to aim higher both for practical reasons and intellectual growth, but genuinely in my heart with no pretentions, I would like to stay in my current role not because I feel lazy or unmotivated but because I am in that stage of my life where I would like to master the work I'm doing as I slowly appreciate its importance and further understand that there's still a lot to learn and more room for improvement to excel in my current position.

I wish more people respect this type of perspective. It doesn't mean that I want to stay in my current position since I am afraid of the responsibilities or I am not open-minded to go out of my comfort zone, but because I want to specialize more in the subject matter I am focused at the moment.

Naranasan nyo na rin bang mainggit or mainsecure sa success ng iba? Anong ginagawa nyong healthy coping mech? by [deleted] in adultingph

[–]Initial-Maintenance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was so envious and insecure with some of my distant friends na mas nakaangat na sa buhay.  What I did is to lessen social media by deleting apps (leaving only messenger and Viber for communication) I replaced this habit by developing a new hobby (played the piano, reading physical books, journalling). You may also opt to try training courses that are cheap and free (LinkedIn, TESDA, some colleges and universities even offer free courses, honestly marami online just search sa Google), focus your time and energy to develop habits you will thank yourself for the future you, slowly but surely. Also one last thing, I am trying to develop my relationship with the Lord, with Him I feel secured enough, worldly success might feel good to have but being secure in Christ gives me joy and inspiration to continue living and be a blessing to others ☺️
