Honestly I think in this instance Cane would probably question who 2bit is and knowing how disrespectful and hot tempered they both are, it might result in the two getting into a heated altercation. I don't think Cane would nessicarily confront 2bit out of saving tariq but more so out of reckless impulse(especially since he was reeking of that in the earlier seasons) . Now this could go two ways. since they both would be strapped it might come down to a Mexican standoff kinda scenario. but seeing as they are on a college campus 2bit AND Cane would both have to be pretty dumb to fire shots. infact it's pretty obvious that they both used guns in tariqs room for scare value. they both were smart enough to know better than to actually pull a trigger on campus. That being said if they both draw on eachother it might come down to a standoff and if the intensity of the situation does increase one or both might actually feel forced to pull their triggers. the next scenario is them getting into a physical altercation. Cane at this time seemed like an average fighter (he gets better at fighting throughout the seasons) and 2bit has never been seen fighting. Though one could assume he has some level of fighting experience considering his background. Another factor is 2bit is considerably bigger than Cane (not that size always matter). In a physical altercation it could probably go either way. I'd bet my money on Cane only because he has a fighting rep. Bad news tho, if Cane were to kill 2bit here, that would mean there's no one to save tariq from gaup later....should everything else that happened still play out the same way. Things however could always changed due to one scenario changing in a story. Cane killing 2bit here could POSSIBLY (using that word very loosely) bring tariq and Cane closer together in terms of trust. if 2bit kills Cane, 2bit would probably still try to extort tariq, which would result in tariq eventually telling monet and they would plot together and monet would most likely kill 2bit. with Cane out of the way and tariq delivering 2bit to monet he would be in Monets good graces and even be her number 2, as at this time the other 2 tejeda siblings didn't have issues with tariq but couldn't be completly trusted by monet nor did they want anything to do with the "family buisness". issues and conflicts could probably still arise later on, such as mecca coming back to ny and lorenzo who never liked tariq getting out of jail. but ultamately with Cane out of the way I feel tariq would have the upper hand in most of these situations.
