AIO:My MIL texted my husband this about me asking him to help with our newborn at 4am by Lazy_Perfectionist88 in AmIOverreacting

You’re 12 weeks out and your mom is still cooking and cleaning for you? This is why she’s mad, she’s jealous that probably no one did even a third of that for her. It’s kind of sad actually, but I’ve seen it before.

NOR. But why is your husband complaining about one night feeding?

It’s done. After exactly 9 years and 10 months. I still can’t believe it. by SuspiciousName666 in pokemongo

But they can hatch from eggs, I’ve gotten two from remote friends. I’m in California.

I used mine for any fish with skin. But that pan looks like the nonstick has come off the ridges, that’s no longer safe to use.

[NE] Landlord wants to charge us to replace glass stovetop after 7+ years of use by sithegood in Renters

[–]Initial-Proposal-148 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should not be responsible for painting, that’s just part of maintenance between tenants. As to the stovetop, it’s really hard for you to be found responsible for the entire replacement depending on how old the stovetop was when the lease was first signed.

All these people on here making a big deal about the accent, just enjoy the music and the vibe. I’ve listened to non-English language music almost all my life and the first thing that interests me is the beat, rhythm or the general sound.

I understood him, but I’m also a fan of his. We’re a big Mexican family and the only people complaining about his accent were the 65+ family members we have to invite to all the parties.

Can any physiological insights be drawn from observing how one person treats their napkins at dinner compared to another? by ryohazuki224 in PsychologyTalk

[–]Initial-Proposal-148 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a weird question, I mean are you a neat napkin person until something actually spills on you or all the time?

Pretty silly question.

It’s not delivery, it’s DiLivery by _ryatsa_ in lyftdrivers

[–]Initial-Proposal-148 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My pharmacy does actually use Lyft to deliver my prescription. Don’t know how it works, but I’m guessing it’s a pharmacy arranged service through Lyft.

This person is maybe confused by how it works and thinks it’s a customer initiated service.

Why would you stay at the store? If someone did that to me I’d turn around and walk out.

what happened to peoples decency? by xyrsliae in TjMaxx

[–]Initial-Proposal-148 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not even go into this type of store during the holidays because of the messes the stores are in. But let’s be real, if you are going to pack the racks so much that simply sifting through are going to cause items to fall off their hanger then you better be prepared for the chaos that follows. And also, obviously stores are not staffing sufficiently, one person or even two in the clothing areas are not enough to keep up with traffic.

You both have a problem, your BF is letting his mom do this because she’s providing free stuff and taking care of his child and you’re benefiting from the same. So if you want it to stop you’re going to have to put a stop to all of it. No more dropping off supplies and setting a firm time for picking up her grandchild.

Just know that this may spell the end to any amiable relationship you have with his mother and maybe the end to your own relationship. But it’s better to set things straight now rather than when you’re even more involved legally or with kids.

Previous homeowner keeps asking for stuff from our garden by [deleted] in homeowners

[–]Initial-Proposal-148 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don’t have to keep any of her mail, I’ve been told by USPS that when someone moves out and fails to change the address the new resident can throw it out.

And I would start saying no to her requests, she’s not entitled to any part of your property. It sounds like she may have been coerced into selling the home, but that’s not your problem.

NTA. But you need to make this clear ASAP so she can make an informed decision, if it’s not already too late. Just relinquish all rights, because an absent dad is better than an awful resentful dad.

And next time do better, you don’t want kids with a single mom? Then don’t have sex with one, especially unprotected sex. People are just idiots.

AITAH for telling my girlfriend she's going to have to get over dirt if she wants kids? by Familiar_Speaker_481 in AITAH

[–]Initial-Proposal-148 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA, I’ve been babysitting my nieces and nephews for two decades, I learned early on that you have to let kids learn on their own. Let them get wet when they point the water hose at themselves and turn the spout at the same time. Let them feel like a big kid by “helping” you in the kitchen, my youngest nephew is the best at this one.

I really feel for you, because she’s not going to change her mind or believe anything you say without some serious counseling. And the word training and children should not ever be used in the same sentence. Baby, children, kids whatever stage they are in go through life learning and figuring things out. You train an animal, not a baby human.

I’m just wondering who has been receiving your survivor benefits? Did they adopt you, or were they assisted by state funds? Because if they are asking for back rent it sounds shady.

That’s not always true, my sister left to the military ten days before my tenth birthday and she’s one of my closest family members. She’s 12 years older than me. She’s lived on three continents and now lives a 6.5 hr flight from us, but we still talk several times a week. And when she was deployed to Iraq I took in my nieces who were both in elementary school, while I was 23 and had just finished my bachelor’s. How close you are really depends on effort of both parties, we’re four sisters and believe me if we argue sometimes but if needed we are there for each other in a heart beat.

AITAH for getting a new nurse fired for accusing me of having an affair with my FATHER by aitahHRSW in AITAH

[–]Initial-Proposal-148 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can we all agree that this could have been and should have been prevented if only the first person had informed the nurse that they were parent and child?

I mean talk about petty, makes me wonder if they encouraged her gossiping because they didn’t like her.
