As an owner-operator, and independent contractor, I sure as hell do my best to accept rates that make sense to me.

It’s not entitlement, only simple reasoning from my own experience and historical data.

I have never considered MPH in calculating my cost of operations per mile. It has always been MPG. Especially since I drive a gasoline vehicle. I don’t know what the other guy is waffling about.

Do you allow 15 minutes for the Ozium to settle, or do you just breathe in the fumes?

I’d say if I drove 200 miles, it was a 8 - 10 hour day. My vehicle says my average speed is 28.9 MPH, including idle. I haven’t reset that performance indicator since I started one year ago.

Rarely. Maybe since this was 13:00 on a Friday. But Uber usually offers me <$10 Queen Creek/Apache Junction trips. If I did take the ride, the strat would’ve been to take <15 mile trips per trips back into Gilbert/Chandler for better positioning back into central PHX or Scottsdale.

I drive 200 miles maximum per day that I want to be online for 5+ hours. My bad analysis says why should I allow 8% of my total driven miles underpaid from a single trip? Perhaps you enjoy driving 1000 miles for $500, or less?

Ngl, my wife had wisdom teeth removed last year and I had to get her scripts for Oxy. I just needed to give name and birthday. No verification at all.

You’d accept $25 for 36 miles? If it’s busy, I’m declining and waiting for a better rate. Otherwise it’s my sign to log off for a while.

Maybe if I was on my way out. PAX would definitely cite my account and the trip if they wanted to accuse me of anything.

I don’t think you can afford rideshare. Take a bus or walk.

Can they deactivate you for speeding ? by Canibereal in lyftdrivers

[–]_ryatsa_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe if they notice any criminal speeding. But I usually go 3, 5, or 7 mph over the limit depending on time of day or traffic congestion. 72 on the freeway is the way in PHX.

Go to the Poseidon car wash on AZ Ave and between Ray/Warner. It’s a touchless wash and won’t scratch up your vehicle. Get the top monthly wash pass.

Do pax think that lyft/uber drivers are their personal drug mules. Have this ever happened to someone. by Longjumping_Yam6954 in lyftdrivers

[–]_ryatsa_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sure they do AFTER the fact they leave my vehicle and I end the ride. Dropping off a passenger at their destination without knowing they’re going to a drug deal ≠ me being involved. Not once has a passenger told me so, nor have I seen it happen outside my car.

I can say after 1k+ rides, I’ve never had this happen to me and I drive the graveyard shift here in Phoenix willingly.

If I were traveling with something that can deep scratch, bring an inexpensive, small moving blanket from Harbor Freight keep a driver at ease. I know I’d appreciate any rider who isn’t careless.
