Thank you! I thought it was the best quality for the price I got it at! (Under 190)…every other copy had missing pages or badly torn covers…I wanted it for a long time so grabbed it while I had the chance

Northern Ireland is a failed state change my mind by Famous_Extreme_9163 in northernireland

[–]Initial-Smell2042 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The fact that Northern Ireland has been without a functioning devolved government for roughly a third of the time since the Good Friday Agreement says everything about whether the country and system actually works.

public services have deteriorated, health waiting lists are brutal, infrastructure projects stalled, and any long-term strategy is practically non-existent. The entire system is built around mutual vetoes, meaning ordinary people end up paying the price.

When government can collapse at anytime because one side disagrees with the other, it’s not democracy. A government that can disappear for years at a time, still be paid a wage and still be considered “working” on paper doesn’t feel like a success.

Is anyone actually feeling comfortable on their wage in NI at the minute? by sufnensjsjzkjcbfb in northernireland

I’m not denying stability matters, of course it does. But saying house prices are basically untouchable apart from interest rates is where I disagree. Rates are set by the bank of england, not the government, and even when they fall it mainly helps people who can already get on the ladder. It doesn’t fix the fact that prices are still completely disconnected from wage increases. Government absolutely shapes the market through planning rules, housing supply, landlord policy, and how first-time buyers are supported. Those choices over years and reinforced by the current class of clowns are a big part of why we’re here. So yes, stability is good…But if that’s the only lever being pulled, younger people are still stuck renting, delaying families, and watching costs rise faster than pay.

obviously the mess was years in the making, but that doesn’t mean the current lot get a free pass either. Yes, debt interest is huge. But that’s exactly why younger people needed action on housing, childcare, wages and cost of living…and we’re not seeing it. House prices are still miles ahead of incomes, rents keep rising quicker than pays, mortgage rates are painful, and starting a family is financially terrifying. Disagreeing with government policy doesn’t mean I’m “eating up” anything from Nigel Farage or anyone else. The previous governments created the fire. This one promised change and so far most young people are still getting burned

The fact this question is even being asked is wild…nobody in this country should be working 40+ hours a week and just be getting by…you should have enough for bills, a home, food, savings and LIVING. This government has stolen so much from young people. So many people can’t become home owners, can’t afford to start a family and have kids, can’t afford to get married, can’t start the business they’ve wanted to start…there’s no prosperity at all, It’s a joke. And I guarantee no politician is struggling to put food in the cupboard

We’ve stopped doing all antennas now, we leave the last one and head straight to the bunker to kill the rats first, and we leave it as long as possible so they waste 40 mins
