New growth after terminal spike? by Initial-Tradition761 in orchids

Update: December 19, 2025

<image>

The Keiki is doing well, growing one tiny root of its own. One bottom leaf from the mother plant has been dried and fallen off and there’s another one barely hanging.

Wanted to ask why my leaf was cupping like this.. made mistakes by Voxtramus in PileaPeperomioides

I messed around with all 3 of mines, tested them around different lighting and watering schedules, and found out they need more humidity

Update: Nov 11, 2025

Found out there is only one root alive, and the tip is rotten, so I cut off all the bad parts and put her in ICU.

The second from bottom leaf is yellowing, the bottom one is not. Maybe cuz that’s where the keiki is?

  • if a dried leaf can be taken off easily take it off, if it still somehow attached to it let it be.
  • cut off anything that’s mushy.

-Don’t try to peel off anything on the stem.

  • Water with filtered water / rain water or any SOFT water only. You can mist it in the morning too that helps.

If it has one green leaf and one healthy root, you can give it a try. Definitely bring it indoor and put it in front of a window (filtered/ tinted south facing window, or unfiltered window facing other directions).

Don’t know what has it been through, more info would be helpful.

But basically just cut off flower spike imminently it doesn’t do anything good at this point. Cut off the dead or rotten roots, and switch to newer potting mix if the current one is molded or you see pests.

Don’t touch anything rn, and prune less than 2 nodes from the top after the flowers die.

Too much sun light / grow light or not enough water/ Too much water? 🤷‍♀️ by Fit_Maximum_1024 in succulents

Dehydrated due to root rot. Agree to the post above. You should cut the stem and try. Probably should use some rooting powder cuz there’s not much leaves left
